The simple fact is that there are people out there like me with a 6.2 liter who will not buy the v6 raptor. It sounds like the dealers say a pissed off bumble bee. The throaty v8 is what a raptor is meant to have, now if you don’t take your truck off-road I’m sure a v6 can do the job but the raptor has always meant to have a v8 of course there is also something that was more special about SvT than ford performance anyway.

I would take a 5 liter fx4 coyote lifted truck before I would a v6 raptor

I have a 2018 Raptor and took it off road this past Sunday. Handled the job just fine. Either Ford secretly put a V8 in my Raptor or you have no idea what you’re talking about.

Then why is every car mag everywhere saying it will be, Ford you put the 7 liter into the 2019 raptor I will order tomorrow or today or whenevr you announce it.

Lots of people say this. Lots of people type it. A relatively few percentage of both of those categories follow through. You may be one of them, you may not be, but Ford knows that they can’t count on internet fora to make smart manufacturing choices.

Keep in mind that this same rumor has been around since 2016.75 and continues to this day as an unsubstantiated rumor. It’s known to exist. It’s possibly making its way to super duty. If and when this mythical engine makes it into production, then you have a better chance of seeing this percolate to other vehicles. For the Raptor, it’s not going to be a simple engine swap if that ever comes to be. The whole suspension system will get reworked, and have to be put through the testing paces. It would make sense to do this via the super duty line up before consideration in a performance vehicle.

Agreed 100%. Given that Ford isn't prone to doing major upgrades, etc. for a mid-cycle refresh it's very unlikely that they would change up the engine until at the earliest Gen 3. And, given how Ford has now decided to keep producing the GT350 into 2019 (and possibly 2020) I suspect the GEN 2's will likely be produced in 2020 and we won't seen GEN 3 until the new F-150 platform is released first.

While my truck has been properly maintained it has 122 thousand miles on it now on various farm roads. I have a set of fox take offs with it so I get them rebuilt every 20 thousand miles or so, but I have had zero cels and I’ll ive done is bought gas had oil changes and new tires. I could never t have or do ask for a better truck. I’m not sure the twin turbo high boost v6 would be as durable or reliable.

I have driven 2 new raptors and while fancy loaded I’m not sure they would hold up. So I almost pulled the trigger on a power stroke super duty but couldn’t do it. My truck is almost paid for and I think it will go another 150 thousand miles.

The new power stroke f150 looks promising as long as ford actual makes them

In other words, your basing everything on personal "feelings" and not on any sort of actual knowledge or evidence.

I know multiple farmers with eco boosts that have cels and issues with them all the evidence I need. Plus I’m not going to get into an Internet e thug fight with someone who may or may not even have a raptor. It’s my opinion it’s my money and to me my gen 1 6.2 liter raptor > a gen 2 twin turbo 3.5 liter

That’s my opinion and my money is spent by me not someone’s else’s opinion on a message forum.

LOL. Doesn't trust trubos. Wants to buy a powerstroke. You see the irony there don't you? Or maybe you don't.

So much angst over cylinder count.

They could put a hamster with a wheel in the engine bay and the Gen1/Gen2 would still be a nicer vehicle than most cars on the road.
