It does. You can tell that ford performance wanted to grow the gt350 rather than appeal to drag strip buyers. We will see if that works for Ford. I can't wait to see different tests with different vehicles against the 2020 gt500. I think the Dodge hellcat offerings will beat it up... Just a guess, but I can't wait to see.

Agree - the NA 5.2 and the 10spd (assuming Ford figures it out) would be perfect for the Raptor. Get it 490hp or so and be done. This is not a race car.... Just need for off-road performance.

Not to mention you outrun the suspension way before you outrun the power. I can't get stock tires to grip enough to put the power I already have down, let alone more.

Keep in mind this 5.2 is not the same as the gt350 5.2 FPC. The CPC 5.2 and it's rpm range (power /torque) should be fine. Let's wait and see the curves.

Compared to a n/a 5.2L GT350 motor? Yeah, kinda, I guess. Compared to this new S/C 5.2L GT500 motor? No way in hell. You can always give it less throttle if you are exceeding the tire's limits. A PD supercharger on a 5.2L V8 is about as tractable as possible. Huge consistent torque throughout the entire powerband with no boost lag. If you are really talking about hanging it out at 10/10ths, that engine would be absolutely **** in a Raptor. You could fit a massive heat exchanger in a truck for the blower IC system too. The 10 speed would probably scatter itself though. That DCT probably couldn't survive either. There are transmissions out there they could use though.

I'll predict it'll easily beat a standard Hellcat. More power, lighter, faster shifts. Every one means faster 1/4 mile times. It'll beat the Redeye one too. I think the Demon will still beat it- too many drag racing specific features help it go fast. It'd be cool if Ford made a answer to the Demon as well. Street legal Cobra Jets.

Agree = yes. I was just calling out sasquatch77 - now kid ignoramus - rampant stupidity in trolling. None of the current n/a v8 options could be spun up any time soon and replace the ecoboost TT and improve the performance. We would lose torque hand over fist, and gain weight. Plus, all the current Gen1 owners on FRF would go nuclear at the drop in MPG, see the years old one and only mpg thread in gen1 sub forum.

I agree, a supercharged v8 would be brilliant. My ’01 Lightning was one of my favorite vehicles.
