I wouldn't be surprised if it is cost related. Very expensive transmission to produce and very expensive to service. Typically they are not known for handling large torque loads. Hopefully Ford has that figured out.

The big torque load makes sense too. A lot of the newer German turbo cars hit max torque 1500 rpms. Probably a little mixture of both.

EricM nailed it. GT350 for the track with a beautiful manual. GT500 with DCT for bragging rights on the street. Both spectacular cars, just with different purposes. I love the front end of the 500. Modern but still Mustang.

My track car is manual but I've driven a ton of DCT's in both auto and manual mode. They are surreal. You can shift mid-corner with the suspension fully compressed without a second thought. No perceptible loss of drive. Even in auto-mode they almost never shift the wrong way. They are superior to a manual driven by a highly experienced driver. That said. I LOVE my manual and have held on to that car longer than anything I've every owed by double with no end in site.

Any projections on 0-60 and qtr mike times?

Ford says sub 3 sec 0-60 and sub 11 second 1/4.

If you can get some decent tires on the back, I'm sure they'll be in the 9s as soon as the blower can be overdriven. They are only running 12 PSI, so there's an easy 100+ HP waiting with a pulley swap.

Sub 3 seconds would be in the 2s. I read mid 3s. Still very quick. Going to be a great car. Anyone guessing on the price of the track version. I say upper $80s
