When you send your lights out you are welcome to borrow my stock lights if that is any help.

QUOTE=ISFast;446220]I know we have been talking about issues with the older LEDs and how the 1.0 didn't hack it. Well I got my lights after TRR 2012 and my LEDs are burnt out. I think Dawson and I talked about it and confirmed it is the 1.0 version. Now its no fault to Dawson that they burnt out, but I did want to make very clear to people that this IS NOT entitled to a return shipping label to him although he does cover shipping back to the owner. I have yet to ship my lights back 100% for this fact and more or less waiting for the better stuff to come out (glad I waited for the 3.0 it sounds like) to not have to get hit with shipping again.

So for me thinking the 50 dollar upgrade for the LED rings to be covered for 2 years is kind of misleading when the Warranty policy on the website goes over shipping issues a few times.

Warranty Policy
We offer a full 2 year warranty on any product sold. If a ballast or relay were to fail we will overnight you a replacement part first along with a return shipping label for the defective part, no questions asked. Other retrofit companies will have you send them the part first then issue a replacement.

We also guarantee the quality of our work. If for any reason you are unhappy with your retro, we will work with you to get it right by offering a free replacement. If you decide not to keep the retro we will send a prepaid shipping label and a full refund when we receive the lights.

Sorry I haven't updated the website. Obviously I need to clarify it for some. The prepaid return shipping is for if you have a problem with your lights that renders them inoperative. The led rings are purely cosmetic so if they fail and you want them replaced its your responsibility to cover shipping back. As you stated I will pay to ship them back to you. Also, the $50 I charge for the rings is less then what I pay for them - Morimoto xbALed Angel Eyes - Accessories from The Retrofit Source Inc

Im sorry if this is a inconvenience to anyone to pay $50 for shipping. Ive replaced close to 30 sets of rings in the last year and the cost to me to ship them all back has grown to well over $1000 and Im sure there will be more. The rings are just a option, you can choose not to have them. Or you can always get a set of recons, Ive heard good things about them, lol.

As soon as I have some time to go into the website and edit it I will. The price for the rings will also be going up.

Left you a message--mine died. Did wash the engine off yesterday and drove it for a while but it way daylight. This am got in it and the headlights would not come on. Tried manual and finally when I clicked the high beam pass they came on. Problem was after clicking the "flash to pass" they would not turn off. Started to drive anyway and after about 2 minutes the drivers side light went out completely and the passenger side stayed on. Now the only way to get the one remaining light the passenger side to turn off is to unplug it.

Where I go and what I do this is not good. What do you recommend... Was going to take the truck to NM on Wednesday but not now. Need reliability number 1 performance is nice but need to know they are not going to die in the middle of nowhere..

Just sent you a email buddy. Its a relay failure, sounds like some water got in there. I can have a new one to you on Wednesday.

Ok thanks for the quick response but with what I do this is not acceptable. If the electronics are not reliable enough to withstand washing off the engine without incurring a catastrophic failure then more robust components need to be used.

Going to take these off and hopefully salvage the bulbs. Going to take a $$$$$$ hit but this product needs more testing. In our discussions and email exchanges you know I am about performance and this is not acceptable so they are going to the garage sale section without the bulbs. The confidence in these lights has been irrevocably lost. Was really hoping that the new wiring harness you had made would make these a reliable and robust product.

When they worked they were Awesome!!

No offence but when you're washing the engine bay, it's your responsibility to cover electronics so they don't get wet.

Of all people you should know this.

I have more electronics than you can imagine under there. Have had more than 20 vehicles with extensive electrical modifications including headlight replacements...

Never had this issue before. The water was not blasted it was a gentle "shower" just to rinse off the simple green. Been washing engines like this for longer than you have been on the planet. Know where the sensitive areas are --- next.

Seems to me it was wrecked due to water. Hence, it's a sensitive area. Which you didn't avoid. Therefore you do not know all the sensitive areas.

But cool story bro!

I don't care if you've been doing it since the dinosaurs roamed the earth. It was you who put water in and messed em up. Not me, not that t-Rex you were neighbours with back in the day, and it sure wasn't Dawson.
