Probably going to run 37 down the road, but the real thing is being quick without adding stuff to the motor. I will never be going much faster than the 120ish mph range and so why not take advantage of the power I got by using the gears to my advantage.

37" tires for all gears:

4.88, 70 mph, 37" tires, in 6th gear 0.69 ration makes the motor turn 2140 rpms

4.56, 70 mph, 37" tires, in 6th gear 0.69 ration makes the motor turn 2000 rpms

4.10, 70 mph, 37" tires, in 6th gear 0.69 ration makes the motor turn 1798 rpms



35" tires for all gears:

4.88, 70 mph, 35" tires, in 6th gear 0.69 ration makes the motor turn 2263 rpms

4.56, 70 mph, 35" tires, in 6th gear 0.69 ration makes the motor turn 2114 rpms

4.10, 70 mph, 35" tires, in 6th gear 0.69 ration makes the motor turn 1901 rpms

Make perfect sense to me! They need to hurry and make a gear set for 2012 Raptors!

Talk about making the fat hog fly throw some 4.88 gears in a Raptor..

Yeah I would think so! Plus even with 35's its not wound up that tight. My thinking is if I'm going to swap out gears mostly due to acceleration go big or go home. The only think next to worry about is can the tranny shift fast enough? Might be time for me to finally program the truck.

Im DIEING for a 4.56 or 4.88 gears in my Raptor. Called around locally to see if there was anything i can do since the news of the SDHQ kit not compatible with the '12 Torsen differential.
Shop told me SVT only! They said unless Ford makes a set im shit outta luck. Still dont believe that, but whats the deal?

Not interested in swapping diffs either, just want a nice ring and pinion upgrade thats all.
Anybody e-mail Ford Racing about producing a kit for us?
