I would definitely leave the fake noise on if I had a Gen 2.

And I agree the fuel mileage is pretty good for what the truck is. But I do wonder how the aluminum bodied 5.0 with the 10 speed does. I bet it's really good if you keep the revs down.

I won't tell you how my supercharged 6.2 does for fuel mileage. But as a counterpoint I really don't think anyone who cares about fuel mileage should be in a Raptor anyway. Also, I don't trust the fuel mileage reading from the computer. Have any of you guys ever actually tested it?

Why? as far as I can tell, you haven’t missed a single thread opportunity to indicate your disdain for the new power plant, so why would turn off the augmented engine sound?

it’s kind of a moot point anyway, you’re not getting one.

So why would you even make a comment about whether or not there’s going to be fake engine noise in a truck you’ll never buy?

Awesome. The target audience in this particular sub-forum of FRF give exactly zero f*cks about that.

But as a counterpoint I really don't think anyone who cares about fuel mileage should be in a Raptor

I remember now. My salesgal did say last January that even though I would be able to pull 21mpg on some trips, I should not say anything because Boyz on FRF would say my truck was not Raptor enough.

Also, I don't trust the fuel mileage reading from the computer. Have any of you guys ever actually tested it?

People who eschew technology end up in prison. First you don’t like some computer stuff, next thing you know, you haven’t shaved or bathed in months, you’re living in a shack, penning an anti-technology manifesto and bombing innocent people.

Oh, and yes, some of us have tested the calculated mpg indicator / DTE calculation.

Don't be so insecure and dramatic, princess. :supergay:

so why would turn off the augmented engine sound?

I think you made some typos there. But the answer is because I like the way it sounds better on than off. :flipthebird:

Not in its current form, no. But so what? I'm a car guy. I like to stay informed about the latest offerings.

So why would you even make a comment about whether or not there’s going to be fake engine noise in a truck you’ll never buy?

Because I like the way it sounds and I don't think you gals who drive them should let it bug you so much that it's fake.

You can't both care about fuel mileage and not care about fuel mileage. And are you authorized to speak on behalf of all the Jennies?

I remember now. My salesgal did say last January that even though I would be able to pull 21mpg on some trips, I should not say anything because Boyz on FRF would say my truck was not Raptor enough.

Are you getting 21 mpg?

I think we are seeing a little too deep into your disturbed psyche on this point, my friend.

Pretty sure @smurfslayer has a crush on his salesgal

That does explain why a guy would buy a full size truck with a V6.

don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with the EB, my wife has it in her explorer sport. And I've always been a huge fan of forced induction. Have had turbo civic, gti, wrx, and a couple turbo diesels.

But I'd really love to see a supercharged v8 in these things.

I do, atleast as far as the blue oval is concerned. Not bashing the v8 by any means, TTV6 is just the motor they have for the forseable future. Also I got 19.4 mpg today on a 5 hr 300 mile drive in So Cal, not bad.

You must have picked the perfect time to leave if you made it 300 miles to anywhere in 5 hrs on Friday in SoCal

Right I even hit the 91 for a bit, missed most of the traffic and rain left at 8:30 and was back at 2:30ish. (I made my wife go so I could hit the carpool lane.)

For a minute there, I thought I was reading a review about some speakers on an audiophile forum.

You’re in the minority on this one, I guarantee it.

Not comparing the 6.2 sound to the 3.5, ssv8 always makes me smile. However the 3.5 has a great sound for a factory exhaust, might not be for you but I think it sounds good. Not trying to change your mind just stating my opinion.

Let me ask you something... What is more likely, that everyone who responds to your posts is insecure, or that maybe it’s you suffering from envy? Im not asking for your opinion, we’ll all know what that is already. I’m asking from a statistical perspective.

Pi R D squared?

Lots of people respond to my posts who aren't insecure. Not everyone is such a baby. :baby:

And tons of other folks wish the Gen 2 had a V8. It only gets the insecure guys riled up.
