The biggest appeal to me (because I’m 12 years old at heart) is the Hellcat Motor with 700hp.

My only real complaint with the Raptor is the sound of the EcoPoop. It performs amazing and produces great fuel economy. I don’t see the TRX being worth my truck plus another $20,000 to own one.

[emoji848] It won’t be cheap. And based on the specs it’s a pretty nice truck. I love my Gen 1 but it doesn’t mean I am throwing shade at a competitor just because they are different.

Please tell me what’s different about the TRX vs. the Raptor? It’s so derivative that it’s painful. Chrysler benchmarks the Raptor, makes a few numbers better on paper for the RAMF*Gs to gloat about, gives it a V8 and a dumb name to one up the competition, and calls it a day. There is not a single original thought in the design of that truck. But then again, this is the same company who still struggles with the concept of direct injection and powertrains that didn’t have origins in the mid-aughts.

What do you really need 702 hp for if you are actually off-roading your truck? My 2020 feels plenty powerful for everything I do from runs to a little bit of crawling while still having a 650 mile fuel range on the highway. Seems to be RAM's typical solution, throw horsepower and a 12" screen at everyone and they'll pay $100K (after mark ups) for Bilsteins. Still think the Raptor is the better all around truck, I'd look at a power wagon before the TRX since I don't feel the impulse to drag race rice rockets and Corvette's at every stop light. YMMV

well said

Resale value on Gen 2’s will be in a Great position over the next several months. With the TRX priced at $90k they will sell about as many as they do Hellcats. No impact to Raptor sales at all.

Most likely when Gen 3 Raptors come out they will take a price increase, which will help slightly used Gen 2’s.

My dealer was sitting on 10 Raptors beginning of COVID and now has zero. Couldn’t give them away two months ago and now the need 10 more. Crazy!

If any Ram had an impact on Raptor sales it would be the Rebel. I see several a day on the road. Potential would be Raptor buyers, but just didn’t want to spend $73k for a truck could get into a Rebel much cheaper.

i’m not a fan of the Rebel (don’t care for the name), However they look aggressive and have nice interiors. I can see why folks purchase them.

Wife drives a Charger RT and loves it.

I care about resale value AND mpg so I guess I really really can’t afford my truck! But in all honesty I do care about those things. Resale value only because I may want to trade it in for another raptor and why would I want to have less money when I could have more money?

MPG because I live in California and gas prices suck and filling it up for 120 dollars a week won’t hurt me but it doesn’t feel great. My old truck got about 21 mpg on average, probably less, so I bought a motorcycle and justified it by saying it would save me money. It did not. So naturally I traded both in for a truck that gets about 17mpg on average.

In terms of affordability I’ll be able to pay this truck off in a couple years just like my last one, but some people think if you finance you can’t afford it anyway. Way off topic and I’m rambling, but regardless of TRX performance vs Raptor performance, I love driving the raptor and I don’t need loud noises as I’m an old man. In terms of looks, regardless of how either performs I’m an aesthetics guy and raptors have always drawn my eye more than any other truck, much like a lot of other people. I don’t think I could pick the TRX out of a line up of rams personally.

Was creeping on some Ram forums and the general consensus is:

-Markup is $15-20k already

-Most agree value will severely plummet within a few years

Most besides the big fat cats say they would like to have one, but can no way get near that price range to own it. It’s certainly priced as a limited production high dollar vehicle. I gather they will offer the Rebel to most and the TRX to the few If they want to pay.

You will have to give FCA The credit for going with coils out in the rear first. And the coil multi link setup to my knowledge was developed in conjunction with Daimler when they owned Chrysler some years back.

Pretty amazing the coil rear still only has basically the same travel as our Gen2 leaf spring rear. Is that all that’s needed according to the Raptor benchmark? Not to say the coil/multi link doesn’t fix other issues.
