All you guy saying bust or not worth it, I can assume you are current Gen owners. That being said, the GEN 3 is prefect for me, who has never had one!!

They're just butthurt that the blown V8 isn't available now. Gen3 is better than gen2 because of the suspension upgrades. I won't consider upgrading until late in the cycle because I bought gen 2 late in the cycle. Late in the cycle is the sweet spot for price and reliability. That said, if you don't already own one, it's totally worth it to get in earlier.

It seems to me that for some people the raptor/TRX is filling the void of lighting/srt10 as well as raptor/TRX.

I am excited to see the 14” up front and 5 link rear in the field. Hope someone brings it to an event this year. I’ve spent some $$$ on the truck this year and it is arguable that the gen 3 will be better than my truck suspension wise after they get installed, just is what it is.

I personally love v8’s, I’m not hear to argue that they are better or worse. I have owned a gen 1 ecoboost before and really liked the power/torque. It makes sense to me to keep the majority of sales as the ecoboost but still offer the v8.

I think that is absolutely true. I know it's true for me. I offroad my truck once every couple months at most. But I really enjoy having a performance oriented truck as a DD.

Anybody else agree with me? This was Ford's opportunity to make the V8 and fire back at the TRX. Now they are saying "2022 Raptor R with a V8", so what? The hype will be over in a year. Now was the time and Ford totally screwed it up big time. Will be keeping my Gen 2 which in my opinion looks better, maybe ever considering ordering a TRX.

Not even a little bit. The release video was garbage but the reviews since then discussing all the upgrades has been amazing. They have totally upgraded the capabilities and beat TRX at EVERYTHING except HP/TQ which will be rectified with the R. They are doing it right. I'd have loved to see the v8 as well but the truck is about everything else...the power plant is secondary to suspension and they have actually released a 37" version of the suspension. Every statistic that matters beats TRX. If all you want is HP then by all means go get the TRX but if you want a complete package then the Raptor even in 3.5EB trim is the truck to have. Dud...they upgraded everything...significantly!!!

After seeing the reveal, it only makes me want to hold on to my SCAB even more. I was disappointed with the reveal. Do they really think they're going to sell more 2021s now or will most hold-out for the V8? Pretty safe to say it's going to be a bust for the 2021.

I agree that it does suck when you are forced to buy other items in the package just to get one thing that you really want The big screen is a lot larger then the present, the top of the screen is just about the same height as the drivers info stack, I think that was a good move on their part only after sitting in a Dodge it was impressive to have that big of a screen.

What are they changing in the suspension for the 37" tire package? Some forum members have mentioned rubbing at a full turn or other steering position involving large differences in the terrain. I know that the Jeep 392 Rubicon has a lift right from the factory to allow you to go from the stock 33"s to 35"`s and a little bit more you will be able to run 37"s BUT they have also increased the braking system to help with the added power and tire height.
