So I now have 1000 miles on my 18- and love it. I traded in a F250 on it and this 150 ride like a dream.

I'm a bit of a car guy- and can tell you this thing is so much fun to drive. I'm glad I got an 18 with the soft floating suspension. I have not been in a 19 but not a fan of the alcantara on the seats. Holds you in place but harder to get in and out of.

I drove about 70 miles to a dealer who had 6 in stock, and was selling them at sticker price. (3 Ford dealers local, $10K above sticker) But it also had all the options I wanted and no Raptor stickers ( not a fan)

It also had a Tec package which I did not want- What a waste of money I thought, but I'm digging the adaptive cruse control, and really surprised I like the lane departure warming system. Really glad I got it.

About the only negative I can say is I'm told it will not fit in a automatic car wash. I really enjoy washing it myself- but in the north east with salt on the roads in winter, I can not stand a dirty car.

Oh and I'm getting about 16 mpg combined, ( which surprises be as mush as I stand on the pedal ).
You did the right thing. The 19 was a disaster in terms of comfort driving

Well you care enough to reply my message back. You just put a smile on my face! Thanks bro

I aim to please. I already said I feel sorry for you.

After you find a strange man's pair of tightey whiteys under the back seat of Jake's ram and he breaks your heart, go buy a Raptor to fill the void (pun intended). Once you have a real Raptor in your apartment assigned parking space, please return to the forum and post something useful or feel free to ask questions.

You'll know when the time is right, money be damned!

...Think I’ll take it to the track tomorrow instead of the Cayman and see what kind of lap time I can set just for ***** n’ giggles! ...

Kind of odd quoting myself, but what a hoot hooning around the track today!

Will see if anyone in the clubhouse or on the deck posted pictures, but just a couple exterior shots from me. Should have hooked up a gopro or something...

Turned mid-to-high 1:40 lap times when I was actually pushing it; on a track where I’m consistently in the 1:28 - 1:29 range in my Cayman. Biggest weak spot is definitely the brakes...faded within 1-2 laps when pushing hard. Nothing like coming up to an off camber 180 degree turn and realize you’re using your usual braking points from the seat of a well sorted sports car!

Will put on some stainless lines and decent brake fluid with a higher boiling point, but the reality is this is a 6,000# truck and it takes a lot of energy being turned into heat to slow it down. Factor in rubber designed for traction in a completely different environment, and a suspension (including the tire sidewall) meant to be supple and compliant, and it makes for an interesting ride. Very seaworthy is how I’d describe it!

Accelerated just fine as long as I remembered to upshift...the “rev limiter” just cuts power instead of letting it bang off the rev limiter when I was using the paddles to downshift. Had to just leave it in automatic to keep it from bogging down coming out of the corners. Wish I could figure out how to disable the traction control though.

Regardless, lots of fun even if I wasn’t pushing it anywhere near my (or the truck’s) limits. Probably not gonna be a regular thing though...right tool for the task and all...but it was fun!

May need to think about those Alcon brakes from Apollo Optic sooner rather than later! :deal:

So me purchasing and daily driving a 2019 802a will be a disaster in terms of comfort?

How?
Sir sorry for how I sounded. If u prefer stiffer driving, then the 2019 is better. However, if you prefer more comfy the 2018 is the choice. Depends on what you prefer. However, the 2019 being stiffer will be better to prevent bottoming of the jump landing effect

Thanks! I didn’t know about holding it down... Appreciate the tip.

Nice info/discussion at the link too!
I too have given up on using flappies when I'm going for the really fun stuff due to nannies intervention. I only use them for medium fun stuff.

I'll be interested to hear your assessment after holding the button down for >5 s. I found that too many nannies still persist for my taste, for example, in sport mode, it'll deny even an automatic upshift if it thinks it'll upset the truck because you're taking a turn. On pavement, it's not like my M3 or C6Z or other former sports cars where it'll let you hang it all out; can't yet speak to what it'll do in the dirt as I haven't pushed it there yet... there may be an accelerations mapping to the nannies' programming. Also, I observe that 'no nannies' mode behaves different between sport and baja mode, and I expect it's also different among the other modes.

What are nannies and flappies?
