I swear... Some people's yunguns!
It's simply mind boggling to me that anyone with any logical sense would let something as silly as "sound" have any bearing on their decision about a vehicle (whether they like it, would buy it, etc). It can't be that there are this many illogical, irrational and just downright silly folks here, can it?
So what is it? Is the real story that you're just upset that the new generation will outperform the previous generation? Is it that you're mad because the new generation will likely hurt, to some extent, your resale values? What is it? Because I just can't believe that something as silly as sound frequencies can make such whiny babies out of such big, burly, brawny specimens of masculinity.
Here's the thing. I've owned the V8s that Ford has recently used in their trucks. They're great engines. Never had a problem. Having said that, once I owned my first 3.5 Ecoboost truck, I have no desire to go back to the V8s. Why? Because the Ecoboost outperforms the V8s in every category, but particularly, with regard to all things "truck". Throw on a tune, and it's not even close! The available torque at low rpms and the ability to continually pull hard just soundly trumps the V8s in all aspects of what I look for in a truck.
Does it "sound" as good as the V8s? No. Do I care? Nope. I couldn't care less if it sounded like a sewing machine or a weedeater, but if I DID care about the sound in the new Raptor, guess what: They make mufflers that'll quieten it down.
It's just silly, guys. Seriously. Y'all sound like a bunch of 16 year old girls who've been grounded from Twitter!
