Yeah way more than just it will win a drag race...bigger shocks, lighter, better mpg, potential for easy HP with intake tune and DP without breaking the bank. Way better interior, more travel, better lighting, etc there isn't a ton of added cost from the gen1 but I see a ton of new tech that skyrockets the cost imo who needs half the shit on 802a.

The only valid argument I see that there is more moving parts on the new motor and transmission vs the gen 1 and it will be interesting to see long term effects in dessert racing with dust break downs etc.

I spend a ridiculous amount of time listening to customers exhaust every day through cell phone videos sent to us and I can honestly say that's one of the worst sounding clips I've come across in a long time! And the video of the GT on the tract at full song isn't much better! Now I realize Ford didn't build the Jen 2 for customers who want to drive it off road, but come on at least make the truck sound decent!!! Oh wait, their trying their hardest and can't

I bet you'd be surprised to find out that not all rifles come with a wooden stock for you to polish.

What I know is this: my modded gen 1 is capable of more than I am. The arguments I hear from jen 2 people is that a spec sheet somehow equals superiority in real-world conditions. I would be more concerned about a sniper locking on to me with a .308 than Billy-Bob plinking my way with a .50 cal. My point is that yeah, it's lighter. Yeah, it has those electronic settings for different terrain. But the practicality of those things in real-world situations is not yet known, and will be directly dependent upon 1.) the driver and 2.) relative usefulness in constantly changing conditions. I get being excited for a new truck. I don't get the weird fanboy "mine will be better than yours even though I have never driven it before" bs though. Might want to wait until the first few runs in the dirt before running your yaps, especially since your exhaust won't be able to drown it out.

None of the other stuff matters because Jen2s are faster and stuff. :ROFLJest:

For the life of me I cannot understand how people are saying an exhaust note isn't important. Isn't that part of the fun of a performance vehicle? The sound is part of the experience. If a Ferrari sounded like a prius would it be as cool? For the money Ford is charging, I find it difficult to think they couldn't have massaged that exhaust just a little bit to make it sound tougher.

This whole "it's better in every way and you'll see once we find out stuff about it" thing is absurd too. I get it, you spent money and want to justify it, and that you're excited, but it's come to the point that any time anyone questions ol' Jennifer that the Noble Order of Jen2 White Knights comes out and reminds us that we'll be looking at the tail lights in all the drag races we're going to be having.

I have a feeling Ford Performance Parts or Roush has an exhaust set up in the works for those that want a different a sound that dealers will upsell cause it won't affect your warranty or something like that. lol

Yeah, valid point. "Yeah I know the exhaust note is kind of underwhelming, but for just $1899 + installation we can fix that with this FRPP exhaust system. You could also get this header set for $1999+install to REALLY make it sing!":ROFLJest:

We'll swap in the new 5.2L crate engine for $49,999 too!

Oh you're going offroad? You might want to pick up our Turbo Protection package. It's a pre-filter that filters your air before your air filter filters your air so that your air has been twice filtered by filters. For you? Just $89.99!

As funny as it is, you KNOW that someone is going to do it under the guise of off-road performance improvement & turbo/engine protection. This one we WILL see.

We'll have
Choice A: Stage 1 - Cold Air Intake
Choice B: Stage 2 - Cold Air Intake with upgraded mass flow sensor
Choice C: Stage 3 - Cold Air Intake with upgraded mass flow sensor and Pre-Filter
