"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

God I love that quote.

The other one that I like, and it particularly applies to this thread, is "Opinions are like ********. Everyone has one and they all stink."

I will be the first to admit, I do not have, and haven't owned previously, a Gen 1. However, I am a huge fan of Ford, the Gen 1, and I like where the Gen 2 is going. I will continue to be a fan, and would like to think that I can have a civilized discussion with other fans. We may disagree, but that is a part of healthy debate.

Now, I keep seeing people reference that they will wait until the V8/TTV8 is offered to pick one up. Does anyone have any proof that either of those will be offered in the future, or are they just fanboy dreams? Personally, I think that if Ford can get the TTV6 right, they will have no reason to even consider offering either V8 option.

Zero proof on a ttv8 or something bigger than the ttv6. Some people are hoping for an engine 'upgrade' because when the first Raptor came out it had the 5.4 then was immediately upgraded to the 6.2. People are holding onto hope they do the same in the Gen 2.

Is it possible? Absolutely. But dont count on it especially since Ford is pushing the EB tech so hard and the government is pushing mileage improvements so hard. And yes, we know, the EB doesnt get that much better fuel economy than the 6.2 in real world driving. The government cares about how it performs in standardized tests, not real world scenarios and the EB does better in standardized tests. But with the whole VW scandal I woudlnt be surprised if the government starts cracking down harder on the tests which would further push the idea of big thirsty v8 motors out of the question.

I'll buy the first 17 off the truck if Zane and brokebackmountaindan just shut the **** up and head back up that damn mountain.... Can we finally tell them our discontent is with them, and not the 2017? We aren't going to turn into jeepers who get pissed at one another based on what model or year their truck.

The 5.4L was launched due to the 6.2L not being ready, not because Ford had a change of heart and decided to build a bigger and better V8. Ford didn't want to push back the launch of the Raptor, so that's what they rolled it out with. Surprised you didn't know that with all the internet research you do.

WRT the new terrain management system... Ford owned RR and Jag for a decade or so. The TMS is nothing more than an adaptation of the system in Rovers - just as the yaw / pitch wizardry in ORM that tries to keep you from rolling the truck was adopted from RR.

It's also why the Evoke has an 'ecoboost'-esque type engine, why the explorer sport looks so much like a Rover, why the F-Type has a 5 liter DOHC, etc...

Once the supply catches up to the demand in a couple years at the earliest I'd guess, things will change.

Oh you guess, huh? Again all the '17 fanboi's have is guessing, speculation and conjecture.

There will always be a demand for the Gen1 because it's an entirely different vehicle when compared to the Gen2. The Gen2 may look better on paper but it will be softer and catered to a different crowd. Ford doing a big roll-out with Forza just cements that fact.

For every Raptor owner who takes the Raptor offroad there are 8-10 who don't. Those cream-puffs will continue to show up in the market and the demand will still be there. Even if the valuation is not as high as it is now it will still be far better than any other F-150 out there.

You have to guess that there will be those who automatically get a Gen2 when it comes out because that is all you got.

The Gen2 will sell in big numbers. Ford will sell so many that the Gen1 will look like a limited production from some Italian mastery that has some sort of farm animal on its emblem.

Those Gen2 owners will eventually show up here on FRF. They will integrate with FRF. They will go out on Raptor runs and share info and experience. No doubt @Jimbo will make fun of their sisters and they will make fun of his 2018 diesel hybrid 1.8l 3 cylinder BMW X-Series with the Rouge sticker on it.

And while this is all happening you will still be bitching about both the Gen1 and Gen2 and the idiot owners who could have had their own version of a Raptor with a different F-150 model with a few Pep-Boys mods and how sick the 3rd gen will be because that is all you got.

Your discontent is with our views that we express because they are different than yours and that we just dont "go away" and actually argue for the truck instead of against it. Yes, its annoying for all parties involved.

There is a hater ********** and a supporter ********** at this point so pick your ********** and have fun.
