If you were a betting man, would you think they'd have an option sometime in the 2017 model year or 2018?

They are pushing 1500 out a year and sending them to Indmar Marine. So the production is still going . It might be something they quietly put on the order guide and not make it a big deal. I'm hoping when the order guide comes out we find an option for the 6.2. Most people wouldn't go for the engine with less power unless they know about it. Take all the new guys all excited about the unicorn

They are still making and selling 6.2's branded as "Raptor" engines. My money is on them announcing the 6.2 as an option. I heard a rumor from a guy that was with Ford back when the blue EcoTurd was running around Baja. He told me that the EcoTurd was their go to but they were going to keep the V8 around. Only makes sense now that the 6.2 is getting so popular in boata

It's not a rumor. Definitely happening. They recently sent out letters requesting existing 6.2 owners to allow Ford to use their trucks for long term emissions testing. Why would anyone do that for an engine that is... no... more?

Still wish they'd go with a column shifter and a real center console. Two cups means no place to put your phone. Stupid design.

Chevy has tons of console space.

It looks like they put a slot between the gear selector and the cup holders...

Not necessarily, those crate motors don't count against FoMoCo's emissions and MPG requirements... Boat companies could care less about efficiency and clean burning/low emissions technology so a big simple engine makes perfect sense.

I would disagree slightly ^ first sell boats but if they want to keep selling they have to get it right.

That was my point. If they really wanted to kill the "Raptor" why tie up a tiny production line for a specialty engine that is only sending out 1500 units a year. It's a waste of space and time for Ford. They are doing it to have easy access should they need it. 1500 units a year is a fraction of the output they had going for the Raptors. You have to figure the engines come right off the line that the Super Duty 6.2's are made and there are a few tweaks made to Raptorize it
