In your shoes @Gsteve, I'd be very uncomfortable about this. Taking the motor apart for the purpose of diagnosis is akin to exploratory surgery. As a fairly recent subject of exploratory surgery, I can assure you that it's a very poor diagnostic technique. In my case I had a tube through my chest wall and a plastic catch container half-full of ugly organic ****** for two weeks, and it was all to no avail. The exploratory surgery was a failure - it didn't reveal a damn thing.

Let's say they start to take the engine apart, find something, fix it, and put it back together again. Is the engine truly fixed? Suppose there's more than just the one failure? Suppose an initial failure led to a cascade of internal failures. You will only know for sure that the engine is reliable if it never fails again, and in the mean time you will worry about being stranded and will avoid taking it anywhere that rescue is not assured. In other words, you will have paid a great deal of money for the finest off-road vehicle to ever come off an assembly line and you will not be willing to take it off road.

Surely a download from the ECM via the OBD port can provide some illumination on the problem.

did i miss where they found or think what the issue is to pull the heads off it?

what does a compression and leak down test show? all good? then no real need to pull heads on a brand new motor.

maybe pull valve cover if you are worried about a spring breaking, but one broken spring wont stop all but one cylinder from running.

to me, it sounds like the tune is complete garbage/having issues. just like we have seen on a LOT of other gen 2 3.5ebttho

Im guessing with the loss of compression a busted spring will cause the ecm would almost shut the engine down , im surprised it ran.
They were talking valve issue on day one oddly.

Awesome, and my 2018 is showing up in 10 days... Hopefully my luck is better than others

Don't worry about it. No consistent problems have shown up aside from the 2017 oil pan. Everything else seems to be assembly mistakes, not chronic design problems.
