You dont need a custom tune, but you do need some sort of obdii programmer. The sct tuner that 5 star sells will change your goverened speed to any incerment or can be turned off without "tuning" your truck. You can also change the differential gear ratio and tire size so your speedo and fuel economy calculators are accurate.

The factory tires are S rated at 112 MPH. Add to that the driveshaft would probably explode at speeds at or above that.

You can get bigger tires (37's), just dont re-flash the tire sensors haha. 103-104 mph.....correct? -JJ other than that method, I see only a programmer/tune to get above the 99-100mph jail cell. -Smh, Ford!!!

I don't really see why this is an issue. Does a 6200 lb off-road truck with halfway decent brakes really need to go above 100mph? Plus add in the tires/driveshaft issues that BIRDMAN mentioned and it makes even more sense.

custom tune can remove limiter. be careful at sustained triple digit speeds. driveshaft and tires are only rated for either 100 or 110 mph. that said i hit 130mph with more left in but ran out of room while running with my buddies Silvy SS

I did the same with my buddies old TB SS. He smoked me short but I played a good game of catchup
Here's him against a bike.

He sold it not too long ago.
