100 mph limiter

Only 100 MPH???

Finally was in a place where I could literally open-up my 2013 Raptor...WOW!

Very impressed with it's 0-100MPH excelleration. However, it wouldn't go any faster than 100...is the engine "governed" to not allow it to go over 100? The RPM's were nowhere close to being "red-lined" and I thought it strange that the Speedometer goes to 140mph, but the truck itself only goes to 100mph.

Is there a "chip" or aftermarket "tweek" that will allow the vehicle to go top speed over 100mph? Or, am I doing something wrong like not putting it into "Off Road" mode or something?

Talk to Mike at 5 Star Tuning. He can hook you up with a tuner and is an FRF supporting vendor!

Speed limit is set to 99 mph by Ford.

Only way to remove it is to get an aftermarket Tune.

Search for 5 Star on this forum this is your best option.

Thats what the truck is built to do in factory form. You can unlock with a tune.

Welcome to the forum.

Yea the truck has a speed limiter that won't let it go over 100mph. You can get an aftermarket tuner like the 5star which will let you remove the speed limiter but be advised that you may have warranty issues if something breaks. The dealership can tell if your ECU has been altered and may try to use that against you.

custom tune can remove limiter. be careful at sustained triple digit speeds. driveshaft and tires are only rated for either 100 or 110 mph. that said i hit 130mph with more left in but ran out of room while running with my buddies Silvy SS
