blue book and nada are kinda immaterial at the moment. Blueblook on my 19 F250 was 55K, I got 68 and change for it.
If you're seriously thinking about it, i'd try swinging by a dealer with an empty lot.
a buddy here locally just got $68.5K for his 2018 raptor with fox 3.0s on it. ( trade-in from a dealer) 60 is low for your truck unless it has over 80K miles on it. ( right now)
I'd personally cash out and wait for things to settle. If you know how to buy, you can still buy well.
And as...
generally, a truck that is Linked, a buggy, a heavily modified utv, or full-blown racecar.
I'll start working on a center-mount truck next. Something in the 24-26" front travel, 28-32" rear travel range. Full tube chassis with a cab on it. I'm leaning towards using one of the camburg kinetik...
maybe I'm stupid, but if Raptor Rs are looking like 150K, maybe start looking at the classifieds on racedezert. 150K will get ya a whole lot of boogie. ( hell, you could buy a full Luxo prerunner or a nice used trophy truck for that money. )
and yes, all of the "real" desert vehicles in that...
I got 8 grand more than I paid ( including TTTL) for my 2019 F250 that was having significant issues. I put about 10K into the truck in upgrades, so the total cost for driving it for 2 years and 34K miles was $2K. I even got an additional tax differential bump since I got 68 for it, so in...
you do realize that there is a lot more to turbo efficiency than " move more air through a bigger tube", correct?
for forced induction, in particular turbos, you need to pick up CFM AND velocity.
your example would only be picking up CFM.
The pump needs to create MORE pressure to maintain...
the truck cranks, but wont start. I only got the U1013 once. previously, it would crank, but not start and would not throw any codes at all.
I also get a sporadic " invalid signal from bcm"
yes, fellas, I know what the code is "supposed to" mean. I don't have IDS, but I do have a snap-on scanner.
The actual code when translated "could be" the harness or "could be" the PCM. it also "could be" a non-committed nvram write to either the PCM or TCM.
I was just trying to see if...
Soooooooo, Long story short ( pun intended), The steel frame that supports the one-piece front end on my truck was contacting my sdhq switchpros mounting bracket under the hood.
When the one-piece frame hit the bracket, the bracket would hit the main feed cable to the power distribution block...
in the past 3ish years, Baja has gotten a lot more rain than in years past. it has changed the landscape a fair bit. 3 years ago northern baja looked like the sound of music (completely green), which is insanely uncharacteristic.
I'm actually moving away from lowrance and will be using leadnav moving forward. The topo changes in baja enough that the PCI maps really don't do me much good anymore. It is a complete pain to get sat imagery on lowrance as well.
the flip side? once you learn them, they are simple to use...
i didn't know that y'all were in mountain view. :) as you roll down castro st, look for the orange tech company logo... that's my home office.
Also- you should check out ghost locomotive. ( also mtv based) they are doing some pretty cool development for the aftermarket self-driving car space.
1000% . it really is. its so light that to get the rear suspension to work well, you really need to shift a whole bunch of weight to the rear. So much so that I'm currently considering going to a fuel cell a la SVC's new daily driver link setup, to get the rear of the truck to keep up with the...
electronic. I wish that I could figure out the logic around the computer manipulating the oil pressure. We'll see how I fare with my new motor, which is going in the last week of June. for reference, fueling issues will also make these motors run like they jumped timing. I've already had to...
timing- phasers, guides, chains - all are limiting factors for the motor. it isn't uncommon for these motors to jump timing.
oiling- variable pressure leads to poor oiling in many scenarios, poor pan design ( sloshing/starvation)
I will also say that the factory in-tank fuel pump isn't the...
the upgraded timing components are also 6K. essentially you can swap the entirety of the Ford GT timing componentry onto a raptor, but its all or nothing. ( i.e. you cant just use the Ford GT chain guides, you have to do the whole banana)
well, i guess we'll find out in a few weeks.
the break-in tune on my truck should be about 650/650 with 5.14s and 40s.
I wish there was an ecoboost bellhousing for the 10r1400. I'd swap one into my raptor with a 2wd tailhousing.
if you like modifying your vehicles, you should probably stay away from the gen3. Gen2s are a big enough pain in the ass to modify.
people who like stock: gen 3
People who like Modified, up to and including mid-travel : Gen 2
Want to build a full-blown caged, linked prerunner? : Gen 1
also...
you might, but you aren't.
The timing setup and the oiling design are the two major flaws with the ecoboost.
There are upgrades available for both, but they aren't exactly inexpensive.
If y'all hate where the filter is, you can spend about 6K and upgrade to a dry-sump system. ( yes, they...
