Tried to remove that weird metal brick on the rear frame rail since it is the source of an annoying thump.
I realized that this clunky chunk of engineering must be REALLY important to Ford because my sawzall blade disintegrated when I tried to cut the bolts.
So… I upgraded it with poly...
Welcome. Is the truck all stock? You mention headers, which is why I ask.
1st to 2nd shifts can be a bit abrupt at times on my truck. Hard to say over the internet if yours is abnormal. It took multiple hundreds of miles for my transmission to learn my driving style after I cleared the...
I have a catch can on my ‘14 F150 with the 5.0, and it has a few tablespoons of oil in it every 5000 miles. The throttle body is clean as can be as a result.
Achieved this:
This is 4 or 5 tanks worth of MPG’s. When I got the truck at 103k miles it showed 7.5mpg. It settled at 13.2 after a couple thousand miles. I did a bunch of maintenance and reset the trip meter. I am at 14.5mpg for the last few thousand miles. Truck seems pretty happy at...
Same but different:
They listed a throttle body for the 6.2L in the Raptor that was actually for the 6.2L in an E-Series or 5.0 Coyote. Causes absolute havoc in the PCM. Ask me how I know…
It’s a govt truck.
The “2083-009BGen Svcs Admin preferred equipment Pkg 517a” line on the window sticker is the clue. General Services Administration or the GSA is the federal government.
Next up: it locks and won’t unlock.
Had both the door locks on my SCAB do it. Fortunately, not at the same time, or I’d be screwed. I took the actuators out and sprayed lube into the mechanism, but I really need to pony up and replace both.
@Cookie_Monster Told ya… lol
10 bucks someone pressure washed the engine and a pool of water was left sitting above that coil boot.
Have you driven it yet?
Looks to me like you can still get a socket on the body of the plug. Might need to blow out the recess with compressed air first if there is a bunch of gunk down there.
Same clunk on mine. Happens almost every time I turn in off the road when I get to work. Hard right, slight uphill. Thought it was something in my bed rolling around at first. No luck finding loose suspension components.
