I agree red, black and SHINY! Looks brand new heh. Previous owner clearly didn't spend much time in the woods haha! I was just through there last weekend for a run in the National Forest north of Ozark, drove from Perryville. Anyway congrats on the truck!!
There's the ugly truth right there. Hydrogen is a much better solution until battery technology reaches usable energy density/efficiency, the caveat is that it takes a tremendous amount of energy to produce on a large scale (from what I understand it takes more energy to split hydrogen from...
Got my eye on Rivian, from what I've seen so far they are headed in the right direction (i.e. offroad). But the technology and infrastructure is (at least relatively) young and ya gotta start somewhere. Like it or don't, it's just a matter of time. Eventually solar, at least as a supplement...
No doubt about that! And some things work great but get broken by so-called "upgrades" heh, the previous itineration of this forum was easier to post a picture but had a size limit or something. And the revision nuked everyone's signature pictures (those used to be easy to add, not so much...
Curious about the failure mode as well, piston slap from bore wear or broken valve spring and dropped a valve? I don't remember a broken spring on the teardown, or if we knew how many miles were on it @PD1744? Those main caps are badass, I'd sleep better at night knowing that if mine was...
Been on a lot of those oilfield washboards in southeast NM and west TX, they are way worse in a standard F150 haha! Empty bed doesn't help either. Aftermarket springs likely will but even then you'll likely need to experiment some with tire pressure and adding weight back there, even if it's...
Nice! From any device, just below the text box there’s three red buttons, the middle one “upload a file”, hit that, find the picture, wait for upload (below the buttons), then either insert as thumbnail or full size (it shows up in the text box wherever the cursor is at). Hope that helps!!
They are a bitch heh, long breaker bar and cheater did mine. Make sure to retorque to 325 ft-lbs, I used blue loctite as well. Best I remember it's not going anywhere as long as the tie rods are connected. Good luck!
Awesome run @N0MAD I appreciate it!!! Wish I coulda made another run and stayed overnight, but all good. Post pics and video when you get a chance please!
Tundra with an RTT, great guy! Figured I'd be the slowest and bring up the rear but he volunteered before I could haha! Was a great time, I'm sure @N0MAD and @RDFTS got better pics/video, hopefully they'll post 'em. Mag mount antenna hung on about 90% of the time lol!!
A Chevy did slip in...
99% Sure it's completely different hood than standard F150. And grille, support, etc. I had a '14 STX work truck and compared to my '13 Raptor the lines are nowhere near, the STX was relatively flat where the Raptor has a rounded curve where the hood and fender meet...
I would try it if it was mine heh, and from there I’d check the connector for voltage, it could always be wire/connector, worst case control unit or (not sure if part of HVAC) the BCM...
