Sounds like a fair price for just the fronts. Still doesn't make sense.

did my midperch adjustment today and alignment specs are well within the stock recommended ranges. the only thing that was out was the toe.

Thanks pirate air

Thanks to pirate air for answering all of my stoopid questions in preparation for having my truck aligned. I definitely owe you a beer or two! :happy160:

I finally got around to installing the RPG tie rods and camber plates a couple weekends ago. The first pic is what the alignment looked like when they put it on the rack. I think I did a decent job of getting everything close during the install.

The second picture are the final alignment results. They got everything within the specifications that pirate recommended.

Yes, I did install the cams/plates. Like others have said, you don't NEED them but they can help maintain your camber setting better than without. They will not give you any additional adjustability.

Hi all,

Wanted to post my alignment findings. Truck is a month old and drove dead straight without any wandering , etc. I went to mid-perch after a few hundred miles and took it in for alignment. The shop adjusted camber, caster and toe. The truck drove absolutely horribly after. It was very nervous, had bumpsteer and pulled to the right. They adjusted it again and still drove terribly. I then decided to install the cams and go to a different shop that had previously done fantastic custom alignments for me.

Original from the factory settings:

Camber: 0.1, -0.9
Caster: 4.3, 5.4

First alignment:

Camber: -0.7, -0.8
Caster: 3.0, 3.2
Toe: .21

Second alignment:

Camber: -0.4, -0.5
Caster: 3.7, 3.6
Toe: .19

Final alignment:

Camber: -1/8", -1/4"
Caster: 4 1/4, 4 3/4
Toe: 1/16

I asked the new shop to add in more caster, as the truck felt really nervous with less than 4* of caster. With the new adjustment the truck drives night and day better than with the first two alignments. Gone is the nervousness and bump steer.

I definitely recommend setting caster at 4+, even though the Ford spec window goes from 2.7 to 4.7. The lower caster just doesn't perform.

I did the mid-perch a few weeks ago and the first dealer I took it to was unable to adjust the caster/camber because it didnt have the alignment cams already installed. I had them and asked if they would do it and they tried but their new Hunter rack was unable to lift the truck's front wheels high enough off the ground to get the load off the suspension. So they adjusted the toe (which was out) and sent me on my way. The alignment was still within Fords specs but I wanted it closer to the numbers I got from this site.

So last night I was able to install the alignment cams and got it pretty close to what was it was. As I drove it to the second dealer (one who could do the job), it didn't pull or wander. In fact it drove very well. Well anyway, I gave the tech the numbers I wanted it set to and he got it pretty spot on. The truck now feels even better driving down the highway. Only thing that bugs me now is the red strip is about 1/4" left of center but Im trying to ignore it and get use to it.

Here are my final numbers:
