I installed some QTP electric exhaust cutouts between the catalytic converter and muffler and can actuate them with a small remote. You can change the tone by opening and closing the butterfly valves. My favorite position is 3 seconds from closed but you can hear the tone change as you open them. Sounds bad ass and the best part is I can close them when I‘m done messing around. I would not want to drive on the freeway at 70 mph because you would hear too much drone at lower rpm. You open them up when you want to drive not cruise. I really think this is the best of both worlds. I have heard to many stories of people removing their aftermarket exhaust systems and understand why when just cruising with them.

it took my muffler guy about 30 minutes to cut and install on the rack. I took care of the electrical.

Does it sound like a V8 no! Does it sound like a kick ass V6 yes! Especially when tuned.

Better yet post some vids with sound too. Sounds like this could be fun.

Not a GT40 sound but I like how this exhaust sounds it has a mild roar specially when off roading which makes driving much more fun.

And I do run SPD Dp's and AFE intake.

Been waiting for someone to do something custom! Can you provide any more details?

Ok first off QTP (Quick Time Performance) has designed a bolt on system that eliminates the stock resonator pipe and adds the two electronic exhaust cutouts with electronic valves. I choose not to do this because I personally like the sound of the stock exhaust system, it's just not as loud as I would like it to be at times.

Here is the link to the QTP electronic exhaust cutout kit. The kit was desinged for a 2017/2018 Ford Raptor so I'm not sure if it updates to 2019/2020. There are some instructions on their website explaining how this is installed. I don't know how the stock exhaust system sounds without the stock resonator but I know FMC didn't install it because they wanted to add another part to the exhaust system.

Here is a link to a video produced by QTP that will allow you to hear what the system sounds like with the electronic exhaust valves open and closed. In the open position the exhaust sounds very similar to mine.

If the kit does not update to 2019/2020 Ford Raptor or you want to keep the stock resonator then you will need to do what I did and install the electronic cutouts between the resonator and the muffler.

Maybe they have gotten better but those electric cutouts never used to last very long.

I did my research. All electronic cutouts are not the same. I have been running mine since July 2019 and only lubed them once. Keep in mind I live in northern California so the weather in not as harsh as other parts for the country. I have taken it up to and into the snow though! :party36:

I kept all of the exhaust components above the frame rail but it is another thing to get torn off. I sounds so good when you uncork it that it makes the offroad experience that much more fun!

Sounds sports carrish. Pretty wild though. Like a GT Raptor lol. I can hear turbo whistle as well.

This is the area between the resonator and the muffler that we installed the QTP electronic cutouts.

This is Todd at Exhaust Works in San Carlos, CA doing the install. All of the cuts were made before the muffler so if I want to go back to stock I just need to purchase the FMC resonator and bolt it in.

We had to stagger the exhaust cutouts so everything would fit nicely. One exhaust Y is almost welded directly to the resonator.

This is what it looks like after the install. I cleaned up all of the wiring when I did the electrical work.

Not trying to put bad mojo on you but these things have been tried here many times over many years and they literally always fail...

The problem is most people don't want to periodically get under the vehicle to oil them with penetrating oil. Small price to pay to prevent them from sticking.

Well I'll let you know when I pass the one year mark. I drive it 70+ miles a day so it doesn't sit in the garage.

Hope it works well for you! I always wanted one myself because... well... who can resist making some OBNOXIOUS noise going through a tunnel? LOL

Anyway, not trying to put bad mojo on you just want others to know before they dropped the cash on 'em that they don't have a great reputation for reliability in these parts.
