The 3/8 is aluminum cast.
Pro's - Better heat dissipation
- More caring capacity
- Usually have a drain plug..
Cons
- one good hit and it will crack and be junk.
-This will leave you stranded..

Cage cover.
Pro's
- Will take a bomb blast.
- if something does make it in between the ribs and dents the cover it's just a dent not a crack..
-If something does dent the cover hard enough to pierce it it will just leak and you can still get to a safe spot it will not crack and dump all your fluid on the trail..
Con's
-No extra fluid
- no added heat dispersion.
- no drain plug.

I have some serious dents in my cage bars and I will bet a pay check that an aluminum cover would have been broke..
I don't plan on changing my set up anytime soon..
At least not till it's linked.....;)

Ah. Forgot you haven't been around here haha. I have a ranger, not a raptor. I'm not cool enough to have a raptor lol.

The 3/8 cover for my truck is a single piece of steel, bent and welded inside and out. Not cast.

So I'd assume its the better option? Cheaper than a cage.

Haha funny you should mention frosty. My moms maiden name is frost.

So how many raptor runs and events have you done in the truck? And what's your favourite mod to date?

My truck has been west to run with the boy's from Raptor Expeditions. That was 1000 miles on the Desert Heat run.
I also did 500 in the U.P. with the Great lakes guy's.
Silver Lake a few times and countless local runs.
Even did a little car crushing..he he

Some more blasts from the past..
Hood locks..
Take your time and do your layout correct and you should have no problems..
Measure twice and cut once.

A word of advise. Do not rely on these as the only form of retention. The lock pins are aluminum and will brake over time. I didn't have the problem but I know someone who has...These are meant for security only keep your factory hood latch in place..

I love the subtle mods...plus I am going with a red look as well...my SVT vent logos are Red and the pinstripe around my wrap is red along with the out line on the grill letters...

I am doing this ASAP...

OK, here are a few.

Brakes, what kind of pads and rotors?
Mudflaps, looks like Rally Armor, what did you get, the universal fit?
Interior, looks like your back lights are red in color, was that standard in 2010, or did you do that yourself?
Engine, AFE intake, how do you like it?

Ok You ask and you shall receive..
Brakes.
The truck is loaded with A great kit from SDHQ..
I have the ART slotted rotors that have been Creo'ed.
Along with Posi-Quiet Heavy duty pads..
I actually did stop tests from 70 mph.. The truck will now hall down in 180' instead of 202' stock...There are also a set of SS brake lines on the truck to help with pedal feel.
Right out of the gate you can see how much bigger the bad serfice is on the rear pads..
006-Copy-1.jpg
The rest of the job is a straight forward brake job..
010-Copy-1.jpg
When doing the brake lines you will have to cut a bracket off the stock brake line. This holds the clips for your ABS lines.. Not a big deal.. This is for the front..
013-1.jpg
This is what it should look like when your done.. The new line has a pinch clamp and the old bracket bolts under it.. This is not spelled out in the instructions..lol
014-1.jpg
The rears have a new bracket on them..
016-1.jpg

Also remember the cooling fines in the rotors ARE directional..
Think of it as a very thin squirrel cage fan.. The air flows from the inside to the out side..
