so i went offroading today, and drove the truck it was meant to be driven. windshield cracked however, so i'm wondering if this is an issue that will keep happening? fyi, i was going fast through some whoops, but not 80mph fast, just some spirited driving so am wondering why it happened.

here, on frf
probably a rock chip that decided to run away on you. there have ben occasions where low branches will bend the oem antenna far enough that it can come back and break the windshield, but if you werent near any trees or bushes, then im going to say rock chip

Could have been a previous weak spot from a chip at another time that just decided to finally crack. Any recent rain or temperature changes? Did it crack while riding or while you were washing the truck? I had a windshield crack in front of my eyes while washing it after wheeling. Something about the water and sun combo made it give up and crack.

This ^

There was probably a stress concentrator such as a rock chip that created a spot for a crack to start. Go look along the crack (especially at the ends) and see if you can spot it.

On another vehicle, I had a windshield crack due to the unibody flexing but since the Raptor is body on Frame, the amount of stressing of the cab should be minimal.

could have been 10 different reasons it happened. and no one here can predict why, or if
it will happen again. just bad luck.
