260k is nothing for a diesel. You should look up the differences in the two over the long haul (I'm not talking about big rigs either)There's plenty of info out there.

What would the weight dif be between a diesel and the 6.2l. i think a diesel would weight a bit more and you think these trucks nose dive now just imagine more weight up front.

Right now I'm anchoring a show called Street Smart at 3pm temporarily. Next week I'm anchoring a new show from 4-5pm on Bloomberg TV.

More importantly, I will pop up all day with cool car stories -- and motorcycle shit. Today we unveiled the new Ducati Diavel!

You got a link i would like to check that out.

Dodge and Toyota are now offering diesels in 1/2 ton trucks. It's completely possible.they wouldn't stick a duramax 6.0 in it like the f250 +

I'm not sure about l "looking up data" but what I am positive about is the many farmers I know driving diesels, real experience, not numbers. And, my own experience with 2 diesels, pre 2000 models, not the newer problem engine. The only guy I know who has over 300,000 on his rig owns a tractor shop that works on diesels. What I do know is how many repairs these guys have done. Under hard farm use, they do a lot of repairs. U joints being very common, starters, transmissions and I won't go into Dodge problems, these guys have Fords.

Yes, the new emissions are really a pain. I was talking to a Dodge driver a few weeks back and he said his new truck has way less power than his old one. So much so he was considering selling it.

One other "minor" thing. Ever start a diesel in an attached garage?

Farm equipment are ran hard and in a different environment. That's apples to oranges. But since you brought them up: why don't you see tractors with gas motors? You can't achieve the same power.

I've got a 2008 6.7l cummins . I took off the restrictive dpf filter and it has plenty of power while getting 18-23 mpg. My truck rolled out over 175k miles with only having the batteries replaced. I've had several gas motor trucks and never got that high without replacing trannys and motor components. With simple routine maintenance it won't need to be rebuilt for a long time. You can't get more than 300k out of most gas motors without replacing the whole thing.

And yes I've started a diesel in an attached garage.

Good friend of mine working design at ford in Dearborn says they are continuing making ford raptors in 2015 because it is selling so well.. There will be some modifications but didn't get into detail. Target date is September '14.

I just spoke with my cousin who, to quote Ron Burgandy, is kind of a big deal in one of the Ford Dealerships. He told me that Ford does NOT have any plans to discontinue the Raptor.

Take it or leave it.

I vouch for problemed bcuz I've been hearing the same thing too. So no need to rush a '14 order

Earlier on this thread there is a post by a reporter who just filmed a show inside Dearborn and talked to both Jamal and mullaly. He came out with the feeling of there being no '15 raptor. That sounds like a pretty reliable source to me. We will see I guess
