The price on the Gen2s will come down just like every other hard to get vehicle on the market. If you are willing to pay over MSRP, I say go for it. In 2-3 years, your Raptor will have the same resale value as the the rest of us who waited for the prices to come back down.

What part am I wrong about? I made a lot of factual points in my post.

You are wrong about the demand and your supposition as to why others aren't competing is also wrong.

FIAT is close to bankruptcy again and is over exposed to the EU market. Chevy may actually build something but they are 5 years behind Ford because of the bailouts and subsequent government bankruptcy.

Demand is high for those who know about the Raptor, but 99% of people driving or buying cars wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a Regular F150 vs. a Raptor. Fact is, there's not a lot of supply, but to say there's a general demand for the Raptor is just not true. Hence the reason Ford only builds a fraction compared to the XLT, Lariat or KR. It's a very small group of car/truck enthusiasts that will desire and eventually buy a Raptor. If Ford thinks they could sell 1,000,000 Raptors to fill the so called demand, they would. The dealers are only taking advantage of the short supply and temporary high demand. Once the small pool of people obtain their Raptors and the media frenzy that has come with the release, the gouging will subside. I give Ford credit, their marketing department has been king with this new Raptor.

Fiat is still a car manufacturer. Hmmm, couldn't care less about Fiat. Neither could the majority of American car buyers, who want more versatility from their cars.

I've seen rumors about Chevy building a Colorado with Raptor qualities, but if they don't see a huge impact with the idea, why would they waste their time. Toyota seems like they'd be all over the idea of building a Tacoma to compete with the Raptor, especially with their past history in off road and Toyota fan boy following. They could even have BJ Baldwin and Ivan Stewart promote the effort. But I assume they've already looked at the demand for such a purpose built vehicle and haven't made the effort yet. That to me speaks volumes.

Why do you think other manufacturers aren't putting forth the effort to compete with the Raptor? If there's such a high demand, you'd think they jump at the market.

So you're saying that Dodge to Chevy wouldn't build a competitor for the Raptor if they thought they could earn a profit doing it? THAT's wrong.

I think that @ThugHunter is spot on with his observations. I agree that the demand for the Raptor is limited and also prescribe to the notion that it's not a truck for everyone. I live in a town of 30k people and not one dealer knows anything about them, including the Ford store. Hell, when you see one around here on the used car lots, they think it's just an appearance package. Further supporting the theory that the majority of people know nothing about them nor care to.

I mean, the majority of people aren't going to spend $60k+ on a truck that you can't load up with firewood or landscaping stuff. The farmers around here would laugh that thing out of town.....

I guess my point is that Thughunter is on the right track and deserves little of the scorn that you are dishing out. Like Gilligan said, we have yet to see you post anything useful or positive. I know everyone is stresses out about not getting their trucks, but don't start fighting amongst each other. It just shows weakness on your part.
