Why not just get an FX4 then mod it?

$53 isn't bad for a Screw especially here in OC. Dealers are selling used ones for $53-57. You could get an FX4 and put $17,000 into it and have a sweet truck. I've been going back and forth as to getting a Raptor or a regular F150 and the Raptor always wins. The Offroad Mode, 6.2 and warranty are the key issues for me. Not only that but Raptors just look sweet!

Getting back to the original question:
There's a 2012 Modded FX4 for sale here on the forum now.
The owner is saying to himself: Why didn't I just buy a Raptor in the first place".

What does that tell you?

I know I am going to get a ton of sh*t on this thread but thats ok I need to be persuaded as mine is being built in a few days but thinking of just getting a fully loaded FX4 for 36K then doing my own mods... I am paying 17K more for the Raptor... Why? Please tell me why I need to go forth with my Raptor...

Why waste money on a FX4??? Buy the trim level that you want with the base tires and wheels. Suspension and other things are coming off and being replaced anyway like gears etc...

Going to be expensive plus the resale will just SUCK when you do it all yourself. The Raptor is a great base to start from.

I think everyone has summed it up pretty good.

But really it depends on what you want the truck to do, if you want to jump, go fast Offroad, and be a ***** magnet, get the raptor!

If not, get the FX4. Which is still a nice truck!

$42k for a brand new Raptor is unheard of, so I wouldn't say this guy is getting ***** at $53k. Hell, randy is selling his at $1500 off MSRP which is right at $53k.

pfft unheard of? thats what I paid for mine with moonroof and lux package, you can get a basic scab for 38.5kish brand new at dealers that sell for invoice price. (like where I got mine)

That's what mine came to after ordering it. I got every option minus Nav, Graphics package and moonroof. Then after tax it was 44K.

I thought the same thing but luckily I had my 9 yo Nephew with me and he said "if you don't get the Raptor you will regret it", no truer word's have been spoken.
