Why would you want to tow anything with a raptor?

If you want to tow.... buy a 6.7 powerstroke.

That’s what I’d do.

Oh I forgot I do have mpt tune and not whipple, I cant tow nothing

Raptor has a tow rating, meaning you can tow with it. I plan to tow my Tacoma cross country with it. It’s perfect for my needs. To each his own. You don’t have to tow with yours, but others can if they want.

My other vehicle is a Nissan Altima, I wish I had a 6.7 f250, I tow my can-am s/s and atvs, and a bass boat. I use my raptor since it’s my only option. It tows what I have no problem

Believe it or not some of us can afford a raptor but not afford to buy another truck just for towing lol... maybe one day I will hit that jackpot

If whipple would make their tune available for ngauge users I would use it as my tow tune and if I just wanted to ease around some

For some of us its just a daily driver. Light offroad, hiking, camping, tow 28 boat, tow track car, drive to work, bring stuff back from Home Depot, haul the dog, go to Starbucks. At the end of the day its a package to an F150, it is a far cry, too expensive, too wide, too heavy to be a beater Jeep or Polaris RZR. You roll that thing at 80+ offroad and you might not live to tell about it.

Just like my Z06, too fast to be a dedicated track car, didn't have enough safety gear in it and it was too nice to cut up. My Raptor replaced a Z06 and a 5.4L, so yes it has to tow. F250 is too big and not needed for 99% of what I do.

My boat weighs 4000lbs so I didn’t need a super duty! That would be like bringing a Abrams tank to the indoor gun range to shoot paper targets, although a lot of fun it’s not needed.

Toadster,
Can we get a second group buy put together? I think it was mentioned that a second group buy would be possible, but not with as big of a discount.
Thanks

The Whipple one sounds good, just wish FP would get theirs released already if it is going to be basically the same thing and retain factory warranty. I think my friend waited almost a year for them to release the FP tune for his ecoboost mustang as it kept getting delayed.

On the TOW issue. If the tune can’t tow , going up steep grades or any strain on the motor is going to be risky. I’ll stick with WHIPPLE thank You.

Yea my tune I run everyday is the haul ass tune, it’s like 30 or more hp in the tune vs whipples, I also have a tow tune that I put in when I’m towing, it’s probably around 20 more hp that whipples.

Most tunes that you get unless your buying a tune specifically made for towing are not recommended to be towed with. That’s like everywhere you go. My 5 star tune and my MPT tune, both places send you a tow tune to use for towing. If I didn’t want the truck to go faster or had to put Truck in sport mode to feel a performance gain I would’ve just saved my money and kept it stock
