When I hit about 65 MPH and have the a/c on I hear a really annoying whistle sound. Seems like it's coming from the passenger side vent, but it's all the way open and air is flowing freely. When I slow down it goes away. Any ideas?

I have a 2013 still under warranty, but I hate to waste a time with the dealer if you guys tell me it's normal and that I should just turn up the radio.

Does this ONLY happen with the A/C on? If not, I was thinking along the lines of a poor seal between the window/door frame (weatherstripping?).

G'luck isolating the sound, maybe have someone else drive it (at speed) while you sit in the passenger seat and try to better localize where the whistling sound is actually coming from...

If it only happens with the a/c on I would suspect a blend door motor not properly working or something obstructing the path of the blend door.

If it happens only at high speeds whether the a/c is on or off, I would start checking to make sure that the windshield / cab is sealed properly. When I worked at Ford I remember two incidents where the windshield had to be resealed for this problem.

Make sure the rear vents are open all the way. I sometimes get a high whistling from them when they are closed.

Yeah, I've had that issue with the rear vents. This issue only happens with the a/c on, so I don't think it can be the windshield. I just searched the forum for "blend door" and from what others have posted I think that could be my issue. Guess I'll take it in. Thanks, guys.

Have you made it in to the dealer yet, dfelicia? Let me know if you need my help; since we've been in touch in the past, all I'll need is a PM from you with your current mileage and a verification of your best daytime phone number.

Thanks, Crystal. I'm probably going to wait until I have to take it in for something else to have this looked at. It's not annoying me enough to set aside time and effort with the dealer.

Close all the other vents but that one and see if the noise changes. If it does it the switch door in the dash.

Cool. I'll try this.
