Im needing a bit of help. Ive been lurking for a while and have done the whipple mod to the truck but im having some surging going on that i cant pinpoint and would like to compare some numbers with other whipple raptor owners. I removed the blower to make sure the orings were in place properly and im still gettin the surge when i accelerate. Any pointers, tips or info that might help would be awesome.

****What fuel trims are you guys showing on your whippled trucks and at what a/f ratio?

Right now I only have the one video with real time numbers,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=QNT7ziup_Us

I still need to make some more videos, I know I have been promising this for a while now but I will get some more posted.

One of the most challenging part of the install are those two back bolts, getting it in there without damaging O-rings and then getting them tight.

Have done any exhaust mods?

Need more info. Surging at what rpm? Is it our cal or a custom cal? Do you have long tubes or stock exhaust? Any other mods?

I managed to get everything on just fine with the right tools....it is a tight fit tho. Double checked all the bolts and they are all torqued. My short term fuel trims show up on my livewireTS programmer ranging from .90-1.00 and my a/f ratio is in the 14.80 area most of the time. The truck has a full stainless works exhaust from headers to tips with cats. I'm getting the tune from Jon Lund so I'm sure he has it down but something on my end isn't adding up and I honestly think its a leak somewhere. I'm gunna take blower off again and check the o rings near the actuator valve and make sure they are seated correctly.

The surging happens throughout the entire rpm band...it is not a set surge in a specific spot in the rpms....as long as your accelerating u get some surging. At idle in park it does perfect no spikes but once you start driving it and giving it gas the truck has rpm spikes as it accelerates and like I said its not in one specific spot that that happens. like I said I really think its a leak somewhere so ill be taking the blower off again and see what I find.

Checked out the vid...Ill take a video of the livewireTS screen so you guys can check it out....why are your a/f ratios different from one another MTF??

Whipplecharged....do u by chance know what size o rings the whipple kit uses in the actuator area right behind the alternator? Are they 42mm?

The one on the left corner is demanded and the next one is actual.

So right now you are running the Lethal/Jon Lund Tune?
What size pulley are they asking you to run? if I may ask.

Are you also using SW Hi-flow cats?

I am just asking because I have no idea how they what you to setup your truck to run their Tune.

And how are the short fuel trims bank 1 and bank 2 are they running close together with the #'s

Please don't be afraid to call Whipple!!! Lethal Performance is a Dealer for Whipple.

Do you need help getting the info for the code or you got it?

P0128 FORD Description
Coolant thermostat (coolant temperature below thermostat regulating temperature).
Indicates that the thermostat monitor has not achieved the required engine operating temperature within a specified amount of time after starting the engine.

I don't know where you are but you might want to go to 180 degree for the cold winters and just go back to 160 in the summer.
Trans temp is just as important, she won't pull full if trans oil is to cold.

the exhaust is all SW including cats...as far as the tune goes im dealing with jon lund directly. The combo that the truck has is a 3.375 pulley on the whipple and the full exhaust and thats it. As far as the short trims go they are very close together yes. I didn't wanna call whipple simply because i can manage on my own for the most part and i was confident i had a leak somewhere....turns out that two of the orings on the lower intake were damaged...they looked melted and the oring that goes under the blower had a flat spot that looks like it wasn't sealing also...so I'm pretty sure thats where the problem lies for now. Btw im keeping the stock thermostat for now, wondering if that had anything to do with the damaged orings.

I wonder if its the tune? Wh not try out Whipples long tube tune?

i dont think i can use a smaller pulley on the supercharger with their tune...thats why i went the route i did....i was wanting to go built but the issue i have now is keeping me busy enough....lol

Whipple has a great support they don't want anybody having problems.

And yes the 3.375 is an upgrade option for now anyway who knows what the future will bring.

I've been running the 3.375 for over a month, it's a blast
