whipple doesn't provide 3rd party tuning , they have the ford tune that is highly encrypted and you can't have it on you hand held device . if you install 3rd party tune you have to send them the pcm to return it to stock before the new tune. this information is accurate for today i was on the phone with them all morning .
They say that, but the fact is the stock tune on your car is also Highly Encrypted. I know with the mustangs they were still able to pull the whipple/ford tune off the car when you had a SCT custom tuner do it.
I need to chat with one of the Tuners I know or SCT to see if they are able to pull the whipple tune off as the stock tune.
You do know that when you connect your tuner to the car and go to load a tune the first thing it does is break the encryption. That is why it can take a while for a tuner to support a new vehicle or even a new strategy code.
If SCT has broken the encryption for the strategy code they load for the whipple tune then a SCT custom tuner should be abler to tune the car with a custom tune. Just always be sure to return to stock the car and unlock the tuner before sending them your pcm otherwise you will have to send your tuner to the manufacture to be unlocked.

[/COLOR]Has anyone out there used JDM tunes?
I know guys with mustangs that have both mail order and dyne tunes from JDM on Whipple, Roush & Saleen SC cars. Never heard of major issues. Some of teh mail tune guys had to have tunes tweaked after data logging or dyno's but not heard and bad things really.
Both JDM & Lund are great tuners. I know Jared who i an owner of Lethal, met him many years ago when he was just running his Terminator up in Bradenton. He is a true gearhead and stands by what they sell and also met Jim at a few track events and he also is a gearhead and racer who is easy to converse with and takes care of his customers.
