All,
The "standard" kit includes the 3.5" SC Pulley and larger intercooler core (under the blower). The larger core used to be an upgrade in the beginning but we made it the standard not long after we released the kits. With the standard kit, the factory PCM has to be sent to Whipple for the encrypted calibration. With this cal, the stock speed limit is retained for liability reasons and meant for a stock motor with stock exhaust (with the exception of a cat back system). We do offer upgrades to the "standard" kit which include: Larger heat exchanger with dual fans for $900 ($1250 if ordered separate), NGK colder spark plugs for $13ea, dual 68mm throttle body (good for about 15-20HP) for $600, and an SCT calibration for $250 (SCT cal can adjust for top speed limit and long tube headers in NON Emissions States Only) ($500 if ordered separate), 3.25" SC pulley and belt for $0 ($230 if ordered separate) if added on at the time of the kit order. We do not do custom calibrations for modified motors.
BRAPPPP,
Most of our conversation was via email and regarding a "previously purchased" kit you were looking to get from a dealer that was purchased from us in 2012. You also stated that you were looking to add LT headers as well. Like I stated to you in the email and above, I can not do a LT header cal for you as you are in CA because of emissions reasons so I did not offer you the SCT upgrade. Also, If you do want the SCT cal upgrade for the Ford Blue kit you were looking to purchase, it would not be the $250 price stated above as the kit was already sold a standard kit. It would be $500 (cal and tool). This is because the calibration price that we pay the engineers is already rolled into the price of the kit. If a calibration is purchased separate or after the fact, we need to charge for the calibration again.
If you order the kit with the SCT upgrade, the factory PCM does not have to be sent in to us for any reason. If you send the PCM to Whipple for the standard calibration and later decide you want to do a custom tune, the PCM will either have to come to us to be reset to stock or taken to the dealer to do so. As stated, the standard Whipple cal is encrypted and can not be saved or altered in any way.
I hope this clears up any confusion you guys had and feel free to email or call me if you have any further questions of concerns.
