Hello everyone -

I'm in the market for a four-slot bike rack for my Gen 3 Raptor. I’ve previously used the 1Up USA Rack and loved it, but ran into an issue with the camera on the tailgate—it sticks out, and when I lower the tailgate fully, it could potentially hit the bike rack. I currently have a Retrax bed cover and could mount the bikes above, but I really appreciate the simplicity of a well-designed rear-mounted rack. Right now, I’m using a tailgate pad for local trips, but I’m planning to travel with four bikes soon and need to secure gear in the bed as well.

Has anyone had positive experiences with a rack that allows you to fully lower the tailgate without worrying about damaging the paint or the camera? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Alta Racks is the answer! The owner is awesome and they stand behind their stuff. It’s all made in house in Salt Lake City and is burlier than the 1Up stuff.

The Kuat will hit without the swing arm. The only set up I found that works is the saris mh3 modular set up. If you don’t put a tray on the first position, you have clearance to open the tailgate with the rack lowered. Only downside is that it is a heavy rack, and sticks waaaaay off the back of the truck. https://saris.com/products/mhs-3-1-base-2-hitch
Not with the swing out on it.
