Cool good to know! I can’t decide on the tuning part seems like so many options lol

If you’re going to get a big ass IC like full race or Cobb may as well get a tune too - if your concerned about warranty the big IC’s smiling through the front grill & crowding the engine bay is a red flag/easy pickings for service Mgr to void warranty work should something come up. So if you’re going that route no sense not to tune it & get a big power bump.

If you were planning on staying stock tune but wanted to upgrade IC so the truck runs better & can CONSISTENTLY produce the most HP possible I’d recommend an IC that mounts in stock location like Wagner/mishimoto/CVF/whipple

Personally I’m doing stock location & tuning- you can “hide” the tune & an aftermarket IC in stock location isn’t easy to notice unless they’re really looking for it - PLUS - id wager it’s tougher for ford to blame the part if it’s designed for the same location & you’re not doing any other modification to the truck. Would they void a warranty if you replaced a stock wheel bearing w/ a Timken unit for instance? Doubtful.

I believe the whipple is actually officially acknowledged by ford as an approved aftermarket accessory. And CVF requires no modification other than removing the plastic shroud around shutters.

I’m going w/ CVF & a gearhead tune FWIW.
