When to buy 2012?

The Wife and I are in the market for a new truck.

A few dealers in the NE Ohio area have new 2012 Raptors sitting on their lots still. How long before the 2013's start hitting the streets/lots and the dealers start trying to move these 2012's?

Also, am I better off looking for a used one where someone else already took the big depreciation hit on the price or waiting a few months to see if there are any leftover 2012’s?

Good luck! When I went to buy my Raptor 2 months ago it was cheaper to order the 13 that I wanted then to pick up the 12 sitting on the dealer lot. If you can buy the 12 anywhere near invoice, that is a heck of a deal. I don't think it will hurt you to wait it out though. The worst case is all the 12's get sold and you end up looking at the 13. I say make the dealer an offer that you like and wait him out.

These things hold value like a ****. Even if you find a used one its not going to be much cheaper than new. Unless you get a 2010. I actually would have got a 2010 or 11 but I absolutley needed the cooled seats.

2013s are already on dealer lots. Buy a 2013. A new 2012 is already a year old and you will take a big depreciation. What color are you looking for? I know of 2 2013 silvers at invoice in Rochester NY.

We like the Blue or Black without the graphics.

I live near Akron and have a fully loaded (except graphics and blue accents) 2012 black supercrew that I am trading for a 2013. It has 4k on the odometer with a Line X Premium liner. I have had it for 6 months and it is show room quality. My 13 is being built in 6 days and I have to drive to Iowa to trade them, so if you are interested, it might work out better for both of us.
