I live in Southern NV. It’s really hot this time of year. I’m concerned about negative impact of the behind the grill S8 on engine cooling. From experience, is this a potential issue?
Doing the speed LIMIT will get you killed? Almost 100 mph just to pass? Did your state legislature abolish laws? Did you guys vote for no more law enforcement? Thanks for the warning. Sounds like a third world country. I feel for you.No. I just did a stretch of I10 signed 75mph, which if you do it, will get you killed. 85mph is the prevailing minimum speed, 90 is the median and about 95 is the passing speed.
No wind noise from the xl80’s.
16.7mpg with an average speed of ~72 for the tank, ambient was 97-100F, 1+1 in the cab, with luggage plus 750 pounds in the bed. No cooling issues either.
I don’t want to hate on the fog pocket lights, I do use them, particularly on the street where a good deal of practical light is needed. SAE fogs or wide corner lights put out the most in close light for that use case. The SAE have the benefit of being street legal but give up quite a lot of throw to the wide corner lights.
For me, they’re more easily obstructed in a lot of off roading.
I’m not familiar with the over the cab mount and can’t comment on it, but if you’re adding some height it can help see further down road. Having light at multiple points helps with perspective as well.
