I’m leaning toward XL80s on the A-Pillars and the S8 behind the grill. If I were to get one first, which? The XL80s?

Tough one... you won't use either unless you are off-roading.
I'd say go with the 30". It's going to take the longest to install and it'll give you a wide spread of light.

Yeah, I have both and I have to agree with @4x4TruckLEDs.com . The s8 is more stealthy, no way someone’s making off with it easily, kicks out a lot of light and makes the headlights look like suggestions. You’ll get a lot of bang for the buck light - infill, spread and distance. XL80 spots are going to push out further, but won’t give you as much in fill and collateral light. S8 would be usable on a dark back road in the mountains to light up critters that may jump in front of you.

I live in Southern NV. It’s really hot this time of year. I’m concerned about negative impact of the behind the grill S8 on engine cooling. From experience, is this a potential issue?

We've been selling the Baja kits for years and we've never heard of anybody ever experiencing any issues what so ever. Your IC mounted down low BTW. The radiator is up high, and has no issues keeping the truck cool with the s8 in front of it.
