You don't need the intercooler. You only need it if you get a winch. If you don't there is a mesh grill for air to flow to the intercooler. And it isn't just a relocation kit it is a complete intercooler upgrade.

According to their website it's a requirement, At least for the race series r, which was what I checked out to see the prices.

Only if you get a winch.

Someone should come up with a quality rear bumper with winch on this truck.

Not to be rude, why not contact the company who designed it and is currently selling it?

We are a reseller of many brands of bumpers. Contact me if you want a quote for an RPG or ADD bumpers. We will provide you an overall better price than going direct and you will be supporting two FRF vendors. Can also get you the best possible deal on a lighting package for bumpers too.

You're correct. The Race Series R does require the intercooler kit because it fits so high and tight to the truck.

Here's a picture that helps show why:

Nick, total side bar question. I know this is probably a customers truck but how does he like the General Grabber X3 tires. I was heavily considering them but because they are so new there was no reviews on them. Ended up with the tried and try Toyo's.

The race series bumper looks great! I wish you don't have to spend an additional $1500 just for the inter cooler relocation kit. Stupid question but what's the benefit of the Race series over the Vernon? They look similar in photos.

Hey there! Thanks for the question! Unfortunately, this is a photo I borrowed from ADD so I don't have any feedback on the X3 tires. But, like you, I am curious to hear how they do and how they wear.

As far as the differences between the Venom R and Race Series R bumpers, the Race Series R fits higher and tighter to the truck. Because it does fit so tightly, the factory intercooler just wasn't going to work down there.

There are a couple other things to consider as well. First, don't think of the intercooler relocation kit solely as moving the intercooler, but as a performance upgrade as well. The charge temperatures with the Intercoolers are much better than factory and very close if not right at ambient air temps. Another thing to consider is that if you have the Adaptive Cruise Control on your truck, you'll have to buy the ACC relocation bracket already. If you go with the intercooler kit, the ACC relocation bracket is included. And lastly, with the intercooler upgrade, the blow off valve actually exits to the atmosphere and provides a cool sound!

Hopefully this helps answer your questions! If you'd like to me to run pricing for you and put together a package for you with lighting and shipping, please let me know and I'll send you a PM. And if you have any other questions, please feel free to PM me as well!

Thanks!

Nick
