I’ve been waiting more than a week now for work on a transmission issue on my 2018. I have five more days to wait. It’s ridiculous I buy 10 or more vehicles a year from them for work you’d think they would take care of me.

I've had nothing but great things to say about Mall of Georgia Ford! They've always been on their game and straightforward with my vehicles over the past 15 years. I'm sorry y'all are having those issues! Must be where you live...

Works packages are offered at all stores regardless of quik lane. But does depend on dealer to honer it, your service experience largely depends on if the store cares enough about the department or wants to survive mostly on sales. Works package is a great value and normally much less than fast oil change places. They can't check Ford history or the growing recalls either.
And yes we are 2- 3 short of techs, a lot of industries have the same problem.

Update : today is the 5th business day and I called my service advisor. He said they needed track guides for the moon roof and the part was out of stock so it should take two days to get it. From there (next week) it will go to the transmission department to look at the hard shifts. I’m a crazy to think this is nuts? Next Wednesday will be two weeks! Two weeks to inspect , moonroof issue, transmission issue!
Stay away from the service department at Galpin Ford in So-Cal!

Go to Vista woodland hills. longest it's been in was when i had sunroof shade issue..crunchy noise as it went in/out. so whole assembly needed replacment. only took few days cause they sent off site for upholstery guy to deal with headliner. 3 days for that.
but otherwise-- oil change/checkups and even getting trans flashed, and one other time had hubs checked out (thought i felt issue.. ) all within one day.. with shuttle service. :)

I use Gus Johnson Ford in Spokane Washington. I first used them for service on my wife's Explorer in 1997. I had a problem and asked to see the dealer manager. I met Gus Johnson that day. He is a stand up guy. I owned two Fords then. Because of the relationship I developed with Gus Johnson and his dealership I now own a fleet of 15 Ford trucks in my business. My Raptor was the 30th Ford truck I bought. My kids and my Dad all drive Ford now. It takes time to develop that relationship, but with the right dealer it is possible. Are they perfect? No. Gus has employees and employees are human, hence mistakes. Gus and his excellent management staff has always made it right. I have had plenty of problems with my Fix Or Repair Daily trucks, but because of Gus Johnson Ford I will only buy or drive Ford.

Did you make an appointment before bringing it in? Did you tell them you need your truck back at the end of the day or if they keep it overnight youll need a loaner? Youll have to go back when they get the parts but you should get your truck back in between.

I have never had what you are saying happen to me at any dealer. Sounds like they are taking the liberty to work on your truck in their spare time. Dealers get paid less by Ford for Warranty work than they get from paying customers so maybe they are putting their paying customers ahead of you everyday. Whatever their reason its not a good idea to leave your truck at the dealer longer than necessary. Bad things can happen while its there like dings, dents, and thefts.

Call the Service Manager and tell them you need your truck back until the parts are in and see if you can schedule the rail install and brakes for the same day. Otherwise schedule a seperate appt for the brakes. I would never leave my truck at the dealer that long unless it was not driveable.

Good luck, HT

My sun roof stopped working on my gen 1. A couple months ago. When you tried to open it it sounded like it wanted to break apart. Luckily I still have time on my extended warranty. Took them 2 weeks to get it fixed. First they had to order the parts which took a week. Then every time I called to check on the status they told me there was only 1 guy who apparently does the sun roofs and he took the day off, or wasn’t there that day etc. kind of annoying but you are at their mercy. I wish they woulda just said drop it off after they get the parts because it took them a week alone to order whatever parts it needed and it sat there parked and I kept having to get rides and borrow vehicles as they didn’t offer any rentals. Then took a week for them to finally have it done after they said the parts arrived. This was at Tustin ford in southern Ca.

They also denied my bad axle, and the IWE grinding issues saying they couldn’t hear any noises when it was clanking super loud and bad and showed them multiple videos of it grinding when I took off from a red light. They said they wouldn’t touch it since I had upper control arms and would be voiding my suspension warranty over it. WTF. I ended up buying a drivers side axle and solid hub actuators to delete the vacuum and problem solved. Just had to fix it myself I guess since they have idiots working there.

That’s why they call them stealerships

The dealership I had to get my '19 from (only authorized Ford Performance Dealer in the area) was horrible for service on my '11. Wait a week for the appointment; drop it off at a specific time in the morning, and then get around to it later in the day, usually only to call and offer me a free rental for the night. (Smaller jobs too - maintenance, brake pads, etc) No issues buying the '19 there, but I won't be servicing it there. I'm trying another one that at least is closer to home.

I have never had any issues when getting service at Gilbert Ford in Okeechobee, Florida. They are very honest and do what they say in record time.
