I have read through the Whipple and MPT tune threads and still can’t make up my mind. I’m looking for better shifting, smarter gear choices, better throttle response plus more low and midrange power for hills. My biggest issue is maintaining a steady speed on a grade. It seems like it bogs so I throttle up and it shifts then throttle up more it shifts again spreeds up and I’m back off the throttle and back at the throttle all over again. I traded a 5.7 tundra with a 6 speed and it felt much more intelligent as far as the transmission goes, plus more responsive to throttle input. I also own a ZL1 Camaro and an Escalade with the 10 speed auto and they perform perfectly. This truck feels awesome when you wack it and let it pull but very lazy under normal driving situations. Open to any input. Thank you.

MPT PRX93 has worked very well for me for 20+ thousand miles now. I tuned mine at 5k miles because of the factory shift points. Holds gears longer and never leaves me wanting for more power. BTW, my buddy wanted to line our trucks up last week (Tundra). Did not work out well for him.

I can’t always get 93 here, have you ever run the 91 mpt tune? Does the mpt tune put you in the boost faster? I like the idea of holding gears longer as long as it doesn’t rev up like I’m racing when just driving normal. Are you running any other mods with it like a bigger inter cooler?

1roadking,

MPT 93 prx is it buddy! The best of everything you described. I have 5 star and driven my buddies with a whipple. Easy decision, i promise. If you need adjusting call MPT and they will adjust to what you need.

You’ll enjoy the Whipple. I’ve tested it from below freezing to 112°, sea level to 10,000 feet and it runs flawless with 91 octane and the latest TCM strategy from Ford. Just rolled over 20,000 miles, 15k with the tune. No hesitation or any other issues. CARB / smog legal so you are doing your part there as well.

It really is a no brainer.
