What size holes do you drill for back up sensors?

Im cutting holes in an aftermarket bumper to keep my reverse sensors.. What size holes do I need to drill for these?

Do you have the back up sensors? I'd get one of them and just measure it. Seems like that would be the best way to do it

Use a bolt gauge or drill bit gauge for sizing, and a uni-bit to drill the holes, alot cleaner.

If I remember right its either 1in. or 1 1/8. Measure the plastic housing with a tape measure. Just an FYI cutting the holes is a little tricky. Each one of the OEM sensor housings has a different key way. When I built my bumper I went through this. Look at the back of the plastic housing and you will see what im talking about. But if you dont want to have the key ways you can cut them off but the plastic housing might rotate on you.

I may be wrong but if they are not clocked correct in the bumper the audible will be sounding at the wrong time, and often.

yep, the holes are keyed. the sensors need to be rotated a certain direction

yeah I took the sensor housings out and noticed all 4 are different.. WTF would Ford do this and not make them the same?

lol well their plan worked.. Finally got it done and it turned out nice. I'll try to get some pics of it and post up
