What other Ford performance vehicles do you have?

Drive one and then make a decision. It’s not anything like a regular auto. It’s intuative and you can control shifts with your right foot, it’s literally always in the right gear! In sport and track mode it holds gears in corners and downshifts like a manual on corner approach. It’s like having a professional driver shifting for you while you hammer the throttle and gauge the turns:) I love my raptor but the transmission calibration/tune works nothing like the ZL1. It’s truly amazing. For the record, I am a finance director at a Ford dealership, so I tried the GT350 and although a beautiful car, there is no comparison. Now when the GT500 comes out, that will be a different situation I’m sure:)

I took a long look at the ZL1 1LE here and it’s pretty nice. Need to drive an auto but can’t find one local here. The wife would die to be able to drive the car but not entirely sold on that idea...[emoji23] the prices on the 1LE are dropping fast and are not much more than the standard ZL1......

Had a '16 GT350 till the engine shit the bed. Took some arm twisting to get it replaced with a '17. Got tired of the crap fit/finish/paint and the questionable FPC that Ford stopped racing so I sold it. Ford does trucks really well but they cheaped out royally on the new S550 chassis.

I disagree completely.

I have had transmission issues, but not even a hint of a motor issue.

I drive mine HARD. It has never ever been limped or babied.

If you are too gentle with these motors, you'll cause issues.

if you push them too far, things will start to break.

I chose to do a tear down and upgrade on mine because I wanted a higher redline and more power. I also added a scramble button and some go fast juice for top speed runs.

Here's a 42 page thread for you to sink your teeth into. The 5.2 FPC is a great engine. But it has problems, likely engineering compromises etc. It was an experiment at best which is why they pulled that engine from racing...not reliable and lacks longevity:

I have a 2017 GT350. It’s a fantastic car. Probably the best clutch and trans out of all the cars I’ve owned. The exhaust note is glorious and the car absolutely feels smaller the faster you go. Very nimble and handles great. Considered the ZL1 but the sight lines are miserable in that car. No point having power if you can’t change lanes LOL! I have a deposit down on a GT500 but latest is that it will not be available with a manual trans... only a 7spd DCT trans. If that’s the case I’ll pass and keep the GT350

I've seen that. I still think it is a chicken little type of scenario where youre only seeing the vocal few that post the issues.

I have damn near 15K track miles on my car. 10 of those were before i went into the motor. When the motor was yanked for upgrades, it looked 100% perfect. All of the cylinder bore specs were checked and rechecked before reassembly and nothing was out of round.

The motor is loose when cold and takes the same amount of care that any other FPC motor takes.

The car outperforms cars that have a sticker that is 6x the price.

What do you expect for that level of performance in a mustang? maclaren or porsche level quality?
