I am running 5-20 Mobil 1 and a Ford racing filter.
I have some Mobil 1 5-30.....would that be ok to run in it? I cannot take it back and need to use it.
As for proving to Ford that I am doing the changes, I keep a log on the truck and I have receipts of where I buy the ford racing filter from the dealership.

 I use a 'Group III' oil and have been since the 60s.
I have seen & inspected the insides of engines using 'Group III' oil.
It has a higher API rating than many 'Group IV' synthetics . . .
besides . . :birgits_tiredcoffee my engine likes the feel of Zinc dialkyldithiophosphate.

----- just my opinion/experience -----:patriot:

You guys doing your own oil changes - what documents you keeping to prove to ford the oil changes are being done in case of a warranty issue.

pretty sure they will be able to tell you change your oil when they don't find dried up black sludge in the engine

I did the first oil change at 1,000 miles, and have used Mobil 1 oil and filters on that and every subsequent oil change. I have run Mobil 1 oil and filters in every four and two wheel vehicle I've owned for over 30 years. I wouldn't use anything else.

For records I keep the dated receipt for the oil and filter stapled to the top of the oil filter box. I write the date and mileage on the back of the oil filter box top and file it.

Some dealerships and prior engine approval will require hard copies loke this to support warranty. In montana what you document for oil changes is legal document. I'm sure it would be same in other states as well

Alright yeh I was planning to keep the receipt and actually take a pic of the mileage on the dash with a newspaper along side showing the actual date and attach it as well. Any reason you changed after the first 1000? Im at 1840 right now and wasnt planning on changing till 3g.
