well you didn't hear this from me. you could bleed off the Freon with the shrader valve. just use a small screwdriver and bleed off the shrader.

then once you get the new one on. most any shop can evacuate and recharge

On my old Exploder, I bought the quick disconnect fitting from Auto Zone, and just disconnected the line and let that shit vent to the atmosphere. **** climate change and Al Gore.

This seems highly irresponsible and selfish.

I'll just chime in and say that's an A/C line. Mine is leaking too. I put UV dye in the system and traced my A/C leak to that exact hose right at the crimped fitting.

Let me know how much of a pain it is to replace.

Ford charged me $180 to re-charge my A/C but stated that they could not find the leak. Does this seem like a fair price? Seems pretty high just for an A/C recharge.
