I just got off the phone with the "service advisor" at the dealership where I just bought my truck. It's in to check for a small coolant leak and a small oil leak. I asked him if they could use Forscan to turn off the double honk and delete the remote tailgate opening function. His response, "What's that?". WTF?

I believe dealers have been instructed not to turn off the double honk, my 18 Lariat did it and so does the Raptor

You nailed it with quoting "service advisor"... I doubt those guys and gals know a lot about vehicles. Now if a Ford mechanic said "what's that?", I'd be more concerned. This all being said, I seriously doubt any Ford dealership will perform Forscan services.

I was thinking similar, in that if they don't offer it as a service, they aren't going to know much about it. Especially when it's not a mod they can physically see on the vehicle.

I didn't know if they would/could do it or not. I figured asking is free. I have a buddy with a service garage that said he could do it for me, I just thought I would ask while it's already in there. I guess I shouldn't be surprised the service advisor doesn't know anything.

Maybe it's the grumpy old veteran in me but; am I the only one concerned about Russian coded software (Forscan) on my computer and subsequently my Raptor? I see plenty of people on here it works for and that's awesome - but what's it doing in the background or capable of doing later?
