Please let me know if you do switch to 87 and feel any differences

I might give it a try and use 87 and see if I notice any differences
If saving money is key, just fill up 87 octane at the cheapest gas station, which is probably Costco. It's a Ford truck, that's what it requires, it's going to run it. Sams gas will have less detergents so you might get more carbon buildup over time, but you'll have long sold the truck and it'll have hundreds of thousands of miles before the carbon buildup ever becomes an issue. If you want maximum performance, run a higher octane, but the 87 will run fine. Simple as that.
If you have both Sams and Costco nearby just go to Costco since their gas is better than Sams and likely the same price or better. But both places sell enough gas that you know it's always going to be fresh and there's no sediment in their tanks. Sams and Costco literally get multiple truck deliveries of gasoline everyday near me.
You should avoid low-volume no-name brand shady gas stations primarily because they are known to have old gas, especially premium that doesn't get pumped often, and lots of sediment and moisture (water) in their tanks since 1) they are usually old stations with old tanks and 2) they don't move enough gas to keep that cleaned out. Gasoline starts to break down after a couple of months, and particularly with 10%-15% ethanol blend, leeches moisture from the air as it sits. So whatever you do, buy your gas at a busy station, and you should be good to go.
