I installed my FP diff cover and Foutz diff skid plate today. Laney helpedView attachment 438525

That Foutz piece is nice. Laney just needs you to be a faster mechanic so you can give attention where it’s supposed to be.

Installed a husky liner, honestly was not that bad of an install. 1.5 hours since I took the wheel out to install to make it easier.

And then I sent it…

When I got mine it didn't fit right, so I called. They asked for pictures. It had "Ford performance " cut into it. Was told that it was a prototype and they had been looking for it, would I please send it back. I did the right thing and did so. Damn it!!

The bracket going over the top was wrong but bottom piece was correct and that is the part that had the "Ford Performance ".

Did you install a Spicer or FP diff cover as well? If so, did the “ spacers” look like small aluminum flat washers? I was worried that the 6 bolts that attach the skid wouldn’t compress against the diff cover sufficiently to seal again the rear end housing, but it did eventually pull tight. I think the rear end profile on the pinion side of a Gen 1 must be slightly different than the pinion side profile of a Gen 2&3.

Spicer cover, yea basically washers. I put all the bolts in, including front bracket over the top of pinion. Tightened the back cover bolts first and then Tightened the front bracket.

Be careful about putting too many lights toward the center. The bar takes up just a little bit of camera space and lights close to the front camera will not help that.
