I'm with you. Thats all I did back in the day. The contaminants from the garden hose is gonna be minimal. Once you add in the distilled water, antifreeze and additive like water wetter (if thats your thing) its going to be cover you completely.
Man where I live we just took our chances the block wouldn’t freeze. Water was available and didn’t cost me anything.

Yeah but it's more about corrosion resistance with the iron/aluminum etc
Oh for sure you're absolutely doing it the right way. I'm just thinking quick and dirty. In my disco or tj I wouldn't have cared, but it absolutely makes sense on a Raptor.

Which reminds me, I haven't flushed my coolant since new. I was going to do that in conjunction with a new radiator but I don't know when that will be.
