I was not excited about adding mud flaps to my truck, but the gravel pad it is pictured on, where I park it about half the time, is easily 400m from the road, and the place I park it the other half of the time is at least 200m.

The ATs pick up tons of gravel, especially when the tires have mud on them, and all the gravel hitting the running boards sounds like a Caribbean street band when I finally hit blacktop, so it was starting to make me paranoid.

Someone (I think @NASSTY maybe?) cut some generic mudflap chunks to stuff in the running boards’ forward holes. I’m thinking I might do that too. Maybe use thin material and a couple neodymium magnets to hold them in place.
Same here, I didn't really want to put them on, but didn't want stuff flying into the truck either.

Did you paint/pc your rings silver? More pics?
I did, I'll post some tonight when I get home. They are powder coated pretty close to the skid plate color...for now. The shop only charged me $80 to do all four, so I'll probably change them again at some point.

GVWR is about 6,500 lbs. Hope to pick the trailer up on Monday. Will be upgrading to Eibachs and Deavers in the coming months to help with the towing. The weight distribution hitch alone should suffice for the next few months for a short weekend trip here or there. But for the long haul next year, I'll feel better have the suspension beefed up.
We rented one very similar a few weeks ago. The truck pulled fine 3 hours each way with the WD hitch and anti sway, sat basically level. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Good to know. The trailer is 23 ft (26.6 ft if you include the tongue) and not too heavy at all. I think the tongue weight can be as high as 650-700 lbs fully loaded and with an extra battery added. For a trip into the Hill Country or Austin or places close by, I might have stuck with the stock suspension. But next year in late March or April, I plan to hit the road for an extended trek across the western US. Might stay on the road for 2-3 months. No real timetable, just visit various national parks and national forests in New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, and California. Might even make it all the way up to Washington. Really looking forward to it. For this long haul, I want the stronger suspension upgrade. Just have to find some FRF folks to help me out with the install!!
