Replace the self-tapping screws with bolts, washers and nylon lock nuts, as explained in this thread:

I've been in loose sand and had the rear end of my truck twerking like Miley Cyrus, and the cases stayed in place. Stuff inside was a little scrambled up, but they did not come loose.

You can also add a padlock to the hinge just in case the bed latch pops loose.

I also see from your pic that you have a newer model. Looks like the hinge is beefier.

Good idea, I'm gonna go pick up some hardware after we drop the step-kids off with their dad for the weekend. I'll make my daughter squeeze her tiny arm in and hold a wrench, lol.

I know for sure with the "updated" boxes they made the handle to release the boxes quite a bit beefier, but from the older display they had in the store to this one, the mounting bracket and actual hinges look the same, I think if anything they might be an 1/8th of an inch bigger in diameter, but the lever is quite a bit heavier, lol.
