What did u do to your raptor today?

(Yesterday) I installed my new (FoMoCo) power steering pump and high pressure line. I have to say that I was a little more than un-impressed. I went through Alldata to confirm torque specs for the bolts, etc and with the tq specs being 18 ft lbs for the mounting bolts, I figured it would be quite easy to do. My first fight was how tight it is in there, getting the right extensions and angles to get on the bolts flush and level was a chore to say the least. But, the major thing I was un-impressed with was the bolts torque. The first two bolts I hit with a socket were already loose, I mean as soon as the socket hit the bolts, they moved without any effort at all. One looked like it was already beginning to back out of the hole. Not good. The third bolt, the one directly behind the pulley was so tight that I broke one 6 point socket, had to go buy another (I also bought a set of IRWIN bolt grip sockets just in case. I fought trying to get that bolt off for about an hour and a half before that socket broke. BUT, I suppose getting away from it for the drive to the auto parts store helped a good bit because when I got back, I put the new six point on it and I guess I got the right angle and everything just right because with "holding my tongue right" and some serious elbow grease, the bolt popped loose and came out (of course when it popped loose, of course I left some blood in there...lol) installation of the new pump and line was quick and fairly easy. Now to wait for the RPG reservoir and other aftermarket parts to put the finishing touches on the upgrade. At least I can drive her now though.

Was one of your lines leaking? I bought new packings for mine but didn't buy new lines because nothing was leaking and I didn't plan on changing them yet. Just curious about the thought process there.

Thanks man. I'm not the first one to do this mod though. I got the idea from another member who posted his work in another thread. I bought the LED strips a few months ago but finally got around to installing them in the hood vents today since the weather was nice. They are tied into the OEM LED marker lights. I don't normally like all the lights either, but they look so badass on the Raptor.

Pulled the trigger on a drop in K&N panel. Already smoother throttle..maybe because

Vacuumed and shampooed the carpets, did all the interior windows and dusted. Then washed and entered into an hour+ of claybar hell. I'll probably just polish and wax in the morning, I've got some compound on hand but don't really think it'll be necessary this go around.

If it snows again I'm calling a cab or driving the kubota to work
